I'll be the first to eat crow.

Turning Isaiah and Crowder into Nance and George hill was the move of the year.  Meanwhile Kyrie ended another season in street clothes.

The proof is in the proverbial pudding.

well this is certainly an over-reaction hot-take.

Celtics got a superstar in Kyrie Irving who should be here for years to come......and the cavs have a bunch of role-players who might not even be on the team next year.

Everyone they got from the celtics is on other teams! and you call that them winning the trade?

That take is too hot.

If the Celtics play like they did in games 1-6, we win, easily. Their youth and anxiety caught up to them. Nance was essentially unplayable last night, and Hill also did nothing.

Oh yeah. Next year, this team gets Kyrie back alongside Hayward, and starts as the favorite to win the East.

Sure, if you look at it from a partial results based perspective considering the only person we gained from the trade didn’t play, the Cavs definitely won for this year. However, evaluating a trade from a partial results based perspective is really silly because injuries are unpredictable, and the trade involves a larger timeline than 1 season.

Well Cleveland traded IT and Crowder, so technically the Cavs lost it by default.

If they win the championship then they didn't lose the trade, but that doesn't mean we lost either.

Nah, they needed to make some moves just because the team morale and spirit was so bad. But they took on more money for similar performance really.

Its going to be interesting what they do this off season, you have to think they'll be looking to trade for one of the many available stars.

Larry Nance averaged 4 points and 4 rebounds this series. Jordan Clarkson shot 30%. Rodney Hood fell out of the rotation completely.

Hill was a smart pickup for them but the difference makers among the Cleveland role players were msotly the guys that were there already: Thompson, Green, and Korver.

They really have no assets though...except for Love/The brooklyn pick which isnt as good as promised. And if you trade those two for a PG13 it is more of a lateral move.

Assuming lebron stays, I am not sure what they can exactly do to improve the roster especially as the East is going to be much tougher next year with Celtics getting Kyrie/Hayward back and Philly/Indiana improving.

Let’s look at it his way: would the Cavs take the trade back if they could? Absolutely, if for no other reason than they could have gotten a lot more for Kyrie than the Lakers gave them.

Their mid season trade you mean.. Yes they improved on that aspect.

But we ran away on the first trade with Kyrie like bandits.

Crowder is a good player, it's just that he didn't fit the Cavs. Look at how well he's been playing at the Jazz.

Sounds like you're going to be the only eating crow by yourself..

Cavs panicked and took on Hill, Nance, and probably gonna lose Hood in RFA.

I'm sorry, but any trade where you end up with an all-star player and the other team ends up with role-players you win that trade.

losing game 7 doesn't change that. And losing Kyrie Irving hurts the cavs more than they gain with their role-players.
