Good luck to the Mavs getting it, he's picked it up a bit this year but hasn't been the same since his injury, and he's due another $18.5 million next year.

Interesting news Moranis.

Not a big fan of his contract though: 17 mill a year, and has one more year in it.

He's been a mediocre player for a few years now.  Solid three-point shooter, average defender, doesn't do anything else.  He'd be an upgrade over Ojeleye, but not worth a first IMO.  Especially not with as much as he's paid.

Haha -- they are in dreamland if they think they are getting a 1st for him.

It's dubious if he'd be worth a low 1st on a vet min deal. On his current contract, no way, unless the buyer can somehow dump a worse one in the process.

Sorry, are the Mavs giving a protected 1st?  He’s not worth his salary, and he’s be a fool to opt out of next year’s deal.

Best I think the Mavs can hope for is a swap with someone like Phoenix for Monroe and salary relief.

I would rather trade for Noel. Backup center 1 yr left on contract if he proves himself maybe resign next year.

Wes would be a great fit on New Orleans and could match salaries with Jrue... only if Dallas had any interest in taking on Jrue which they don't.  Is there a third team that could complete this deal?  Maybe with NO sending out a draft pick or taking on another team's undesirable multi-year contract?

I would think Dallas would have to give up a first to move him...

This kind of rumor often precedes a buy out negotiation.  Afterwards I'm interested with the DPE.

You think Wes is giving up the $18.6 million he’s owed next year?  I don’t.

I think the Mavs are hoping to move him for an expiring (Not a pick) while he’s in the middle of a month in which he’s shooting 45% from 3.  But I can’t see a way for the Mavs and Wes to come to an agreement for the huge amount he’s owed next year while also buying him out of the $7-8 million he’s owed for the rest of this year.

Maybe they can get a protected 1st if they're willing to take on a longer contract.

I was thinking something like that.  I mean would the Cavs trade JR Smith (and Rose for filler) and their 1st this year for Matthews.
