I don't like him. He is a ball hog, a chucker and seems to be a bad locker room guy, but I thought he would get a lot more money.

By the way, Kinda says something about the way his career is going when he couldn't get the horrible and desperate Nets to pay him more than 2,9 million per year.

What do you guys think about this signing ? If this is true, obviously.

Woj has confirmed it.  Two year room exception, second year is player option.

I think Waiters should fire his agent, since he didn't accept a much larger one-year deal from OKC.  It's a nice low-risk move for the Heat.

That was my first thought too, but once they traded for Oladipo and rescinded Dion's qualifying offer, it was clear they didn't necessarily want him back.

I think he didn't like the trade for Oladipo, decided that he should leave and thought he would receive some share of the money that was thrown out in the market.

Boy, he was wrong. A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush

BTW, I would never want him in green, even for two pair of old socks. He seems to behave like a diva, but lack the talent necessary to make people swallow you.

Look LBJ, he is the ultimate diva, in my opinion, but people have to swallow him because of the fact that he is very good at his job.

The Nets didn't want him, not the other way around.  This is great though, it means that the Heat are not tanking

I don't disagree, but I swear a few years ago before Lebron returned to Cleveland a lot of folks on CB were trying to figure out how to work a trade to get him here. His potential back then much higher than what he turned out to be.

Surprised about the terms, after seeing guys like Bazemore, Courtney Lee, Fournier, and Austin Rivers secure big money. I think the Waiters camp is buying into the idea that he could have a career year with a handful of looks normally for Wade. Not a bad move for the long term, so long as he can prove to be a scorer on a non-tanking team. If not, he will be a stop-gap for Miami until they find their next franchise guard.

No interest in this player for the Celtics, but a nice pickup for Miami. Seems like he's been around for a while but only 24. Dynamic player at 'Cuse, not sure how many more chances he gets.

Im surprised. I felt he was quite good in the playoffs.

Now that FA is coming to a close, its becoming clear that if you werent in the running for a top tier guy, you were best suited to wait out the rush of Mozgov Austin Rivers contracts and just scoop up the leftovers for reasonable shortish term contracts. Nice signing for miami.

Actually very disappointed we didn't at least even try to float an offer at Waiters.

He definitely didn't impress me in the regular season, but his defense against Spurs was underrated, and definitely key in how he bodied up Kawhi Leonard, and made it tough for him to score in rhythm.

Its such a shame players have such a high ego of themselves, and the inability to put their career on the line by working harder to perfect the weaknesses. Waiters should've at least gotten 10-12 million, which is funny the Nets, of all teams, didn't even think he was worth that contract.

Dion Waiters has agreed to a one-year deal with the Heat.
It's only worth $2.9 million,
