Love IT and the pick should bring us a solid piece , but if you had the chance would you trade them for Lillard ? Lillard to me is clearly a top 20 player in the league , and isn't as much of a liability as IT is on the defensive end .

Wouldn't do it if it is top 2 pick, but think I would if it's 3 or lower .

Also Lillard would be a major draw for free agents.

I don't think so. There's a gap between Lillard and IT, but it's not so big a gap that it's worth Simmons / Ingram / whoever we could trade the pick for. Plus, IT is a bargain, and Lillard is looking at the max.

I don't think so.  Even if it's not a two pick I'd probably rather have IT and Hield or Murray than Lillard.

Yeah, definitely. I think you can win a chip with Lillard as your best player.

This pretty much says it all, although most of the 'gap' is in height and perception, not actual production on the basketball court. I know Lillard has some advanced statistics advantages, but they aren't vast and it's not like he is a terror on defense.

No

The gap between IT and Lillard is not as big as ppl think

IT's contract is a bargain

And the Brooklyn pick is worth quite a lot even if it ends up being 5/6th.

Agreed. They basically do the exact same things. Lillard is just a little better but he ain't that much better to move a top five pick and multiply allocated salary by 3.

Meh, maybe. I am not a big Lillard fan.

Yeah, I'd probably do it if pick is outside top 2.

I doubt they would do it even with the number one in the deal.   Lillard is a proven star.

No. We need continuity in this roster. I understand C's blog looks at this like MyGM on 2K, but Isaiah is an important building block for the team whether he starts or is off the bench. He's also a big part of the Celtics' success and clearly contributes to the good locker room chemistry, which is more important. I have a feeling Danny is going to make some tough decisions this summer, but I do not foresee him doing that to IT right after having him represent them in the lottery.

Well here is ur clue. Isaiah is the one player picked to go recruit other players to join the 2016-17 Boston Celtics. I don't think Danny sends his leprechaun to recruit just to turn around n trade him. 💡

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
nah, Lilliard is a great player, but he's still not in the elite PG category. He's slightly better than IT overall, but IT is still improving too-he's only started for one year.

He's apparently concentrating on his diet this offseason and said he's only ever eaten junk food- even this year lol.

Gap between IT and Lilliard is just not big enough to include trading the BRK pick at this point.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

With the pick outside the top two, absolutely.

They have similar production statistically, though I think Lillard is clearly ahead in some big areas, e.g. shooting, but the major difference between the two is that Lillard is an absolute closer/clutch player that can be relied on where IT is very questionable in that regard.

One of my favorite game winners is when he won the Houston series on that deep 3 back in 2014.

I probably would, so long as it wasn't a top-2 pick.

Portland wouldn't do it, though.
