I love it! Kobe was there on crutches and Dwight did what he does best, he bailed on his team

What this thread needs is some pictures of sad Lakers players and their disappointed fairweather celebrity fans!

Enjoy!

Twice now...back to back.  Loving it

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my
blood would’ve been green.  -  Bill "Greatest of All Time" Russell

Alas, here's a little math for you:

17 > 16 > 2.

Same but it would be a different story if LA won another banner...

James is destined to get more rings and there's really nothing any team can do about it. Meh

a Laker sweep is sweet but would have been much sweeter if Kobe had been playing and they were still swept.

I don't agree on the destined part (You still have to win the games and one injury can change a lot, as we've seen this year) but other than that, yeah, unfortunately it looks like it. I watched a bit of last night's game and he really is just playing so well and really has been all season. And yes, people, it's okay for us to say that LeBron James is a great basketball player and at the same time tell the world that you don't like him. I know because I do it all the time  ;D

Ah, Double Gravy. In a perfect world and all that. Still, first sweep in the first round in 46 years for the Lakers *does count* for something and they are not winning this year. We'll take it  :)

This is always my 2nd favorite part of the playoffs, the elimination of the Lakers.

And whenever it happens while the Celtics are still alive, the better I feel.

And the Heat will never be the Lakers in terms of good honest dislike of a rival.

At least not for a long time because quite frankly Boston and Miami need a number of years where they are both realistic contenders and where they meet in the playoffs.  That just hasn't happened.  Last year and the year before, sure, but 2 years does not a rivalry make.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I can see a rivalry with Lebron because of his years in Cleveland and Miami, but the Celtics Lakers rivalry is not because of one player or even one era.

Quite unbelievable someone paid money to host this.
