It is MORE in pp's absence than Rondo's....Rondo was always looking for someone to run with, he fed tony allen all the time, then bradley....this is totally wrong to keep blaming rondo...he LED in assists AND often led our team in REBOUNDING....honestly, do you guys know anything about basketball..?

I think the reason for Jeff's rise is the absence of Barbosa!
See how absurb, this thread is but one can make a case for his best games. I think Barbosa was holding him back, get real folks.
Green is stepping up to help the team and who knows could be he knows the system or is finally recovered from surgery. I think the man down theory has more merit than Rondo holding him back.

I think Rondo and Green are connected but I don't think Rondo was intentially snubbing him or anything like that. When Rondo was playing, the set was for Green to stand in the corner while Rondo did his thing.
Green is much more effective when he is moving, with or without the ball.

Also, s ws said,the guy is still recovering from major surgery....he has shown an impressive array of skills lately..and i bet pp likes it, but wishes it was still him...it is harder to get older, as pp was this guy before. Jeff even has pp's elbow shot now, whaich i was happy and surprised to see...if he can shooot like that..with his drives....with the 2 new guys....we got a team again..!!! We Could still use one big man.....more..!

I don't think Rondo had much to do with it. It has now been about a year since his heart surgery, and I think it is just nature's schedule...his body is improved and he is taking things more into his own hands. This would have happened with or without Rondo, IMO.
Agreed. He's now progressing closer to full strength and his ceiling is showing in his performance. |

I say more or less a pure coincidence in that it took Green a 1/2 a season to get comfortable on the basketball court to demonstrate his capabilities sich as defending Lebron James effectively. It is a coincidence that game was Jeff Greens breakout game was the first game that Rondo was out injured.

Jeff Green has always been a guy who could create shots for himself. I'm too lazy to find it right now, but I once went through the 10 or so games that Green played in OKC without Durant (Durant was rarely injured) and essentially every game Green scored 20+. He was the 3rd option in OKC with two HUGE scorers... and in Boston he's coming off the bench backing up our best offensive option. When Rondo was playing, Green was being asked to be more of a spot up shooter and wait for Rondo to find him... not to mention the fact that he just wasn't getting a ton of minutes and his role was severely limited. At this point, he's getting more minutes and he's getting opportunities to use his natural skills to create.
I do think that when Pierce and KG leave, Green will probably average 19 or so points... but the team will probably be awful... and I don't think Green will ever be anything more than a fringe allstar. Probably a notch below Danny Granger... a good scorer who MAYBE makes one allstar game.
