I'd do that in a heartbeat, too bad sacramento wouldn't touch it.

I'd do it.
I think that's great value considering the injuries and the potential impact Cousins could have to our title chances.

How about adding Bass+Melo for Garcia in the deal?? We're giving them a PF who can play right now and a future prospect in Melo and we're taking Garcia's bad contract... I'd rather take Chuck Hayes back, but then Sacramento is left without a C! http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=bceepc3

I have my doubts as to whether Cousins would be the kind of guy you could plug into your team and immediately play better. Frequently it takes a long time to make a piece like Cousins mesh with the rest of the team.
If the goal is to win this year, then I think I'd prefer a guy who isn't used to being the center of the offense. Somebody who can come in and fill holes for us, rather than changing our team dynamic.

I think, given that we have an huge problem down low, that's the only trade that can make us a serious contender right now and many fellow Celtics fans might be thinking of it... we give up part of our future but I think Cousins is worth the gamble! TP for thinking alike!

Sac won't touch it..they are taking two guys with fairly significant injuries and giving up their biggest asset.
It sounds cool on paper but not realistic imo

This Rondo for Cousins trade idea also has been in my mind for a week or so. This is the absolute win now trade, don't know if I'd do it, and I'm not sure the Kings would do it too...
I love Rondo but watching this team, with Bass at the 5 sometimes I just feel like blowing my head off...just one good big man away from being a great team. I don't know, I'm just glad I'm not DA.

Rondo and Sully is way too much to give up for Cousins.
And with the injuries to those two players, the Kings would have to be crazy to make that trade.

The only change I'd make would be switching Melo for Sully in the trade.
Why is it works for Sacramento?
They're not going anywhere this year, so having to wait until next year for Rondo shouldn't be a deal breaker. Plus, they add a top tier all star point guard to help as the face of the franchise in Seattle.
Why it works for Boston?
The biggest need for this team is size and DMC provides that in spades. Beyond that - while he may be a knucklehead - he is extremely talented and only 22 years old. Therefore, he's not just a quick fix, but also the future.
