Well, despite the Celtic's woes, Lakers continue to play themselves right out of the playoffs. There is SOME good left out there. I can't gloat too much, but misery loves company. The Lakers are my NBA therapy right now.

Lakers have some of the same issues as the Celtics, they were destroyed in the paint by the YOUNG grizzles, outrebound like crazy, and the Lakers just could not get back on defense the second half....TOO SLOW and OLD...Kobe scores alot of points but is now a liability.

Mahinmi looks a lot bigger than I remember. More muscle. He has really worked hard to fill out that frame of his. Used to be so skinny. Even last year with Dallas, Mahinimi got pushed around a lot in the paint.
Showing good fight here in the low post battling against Enes Kanter.

So, they put Kobe on Westbrook, and have Nash on Martin... I think it's obvious what the Thunder need to do, don't know why they're not doing it...

Oh, I forgot about the OKC-LAL game. I meant to watch the second half. Needed a break after that double overtime game earlier against Miami. Bah humbug.
LA won. Good for them.

Some beautiful passing from Brooklyn. Deron on the left wing finds Joe Johnson cutting down the paint, doubled, JJ kicks it out to opposite wing with Gerald Wallace slashing down, defense collapses, quick pass to Reggie Evans left post, easy layup. Lovely.
Good game between Brooklyn and Miami. Miami up 14-8. Miami's quickness and dribble penetrating causing Brooklyn fits early on.

Michael Beasley, of all people, has been instrumental in putting the Suns on top of the Lakers here. Huge baskets down the stretch.

The announcers kissing Kobe's butt all game, talking about how amazed they are at him sharing the ball, but as soon as the big lead disappeared, he turned into his regular ball-hog self, and they go down in flames ... love it!

Tough loss by the Lakers. Just when they were starting to get things going too. Why must they have to pick themselves up so often?
I loved how Kobe abandoned his self-described "neo-mode" and went back to Kobe, the Black Mamba in the fourth as their lead slipped away. After his teammates dared to miss a few shots, actually I don't think it was even a few shots, I remember Artest missing a wide open three in the fourth and I can't remember anything else, Kobe was like, "I'm going to have to win this all by myself." He basically stopped passing, started pounding the ball, refused to give it to Gasol after a number of screens and that was that.
Beasley looked great.

Can't believe I missed yet another meltdown by the Lakers.
Stopped watching after the Suns' deficit bloated to 10.

The backups beat the first stringers!! (Nash-Dragic, Dwight-Gortat, Kobe-Shannon Brown)
Beasley brings them back from 13 down with minutes remaining, he's always been one of the most unstoppable players in the league when hot.
Glad to see Phoenix is FINALLY letting him loose. 16 points in 23 minutes the past 8 games, shooting 51% from the field and 50% from 3.
