Saw The Campaign last Saturday. Was a cool movie. At least Will Ferrell still has the chops to play. And Zach G. was awesome as a weird local who ran against Will Ferrell's Congressman persona.

Just got back from Django Unchained. Killer flick. Tarantino nailed another one. The writing, acting, sound track, story. All were great. DiCaprio was fan freakin tastic as was Christoph Waltz. Foxx and Jackson also had killer performances. A tad bit lengthy but overall well well worth it and well well done.
Also went and saw Django Unchained. It was definitely a very good show, however I am not sure that we need this kind of thing out there stoking the flames of racism. Watching them whip that woman made me literally sick. What a terrible part of our history as a nation.

None of the following are safe for kids films except the first one and it’s awful.
Three Musketeers – Sucks. Never get why directors put an unknown/untried in the lead. Doesn’t work here either. A decent cast otherwise, but a ridiculous script unless you liked the Will Smith Wild, Wild, West.
Seven Psychopaths – Dark humor. Entertaining. Christopher Walken is great.
End of Watch – Cop film that I liked more than I expected and the tension’s pretty thick toward the end. Camera work is purposely jittery, but it works well.
Looper – Superior time travel./SyFy.
The Campaign – I like Will Farrell, but his movies are up and down. This was more down than up, but it still reminded you how much BS goes on during our political campaigns.
Les Mis – I pretty much agree with the other comments here. Very good (but not Oscar worthy for best picture IMO). Hathaway was definitely Oscar worthy, however, and Jackman had a huge role and more than pulled it off. A date night movie that I was glad to have seen when it was over.
Zero Dark Thirty – Best movie I’ve seen this year. Tension’s amazing for a movie where you know how it ends. IMO, the controversy over torture is overblown. OTOH, I knew a couple dozen people that died on 9/11, so I might be prejudiced. Whether that issue keeps it from winning best picture, I don’t know, but I’d vote for it over Lincoln and Argo both which I liked a lot also.

Silver Linings Playbook - Highly recommended and a great date movie for both spouses. Quirky, funny, romatic, and Jennifer Lawrence is pretty hot. Great cast and richly deserving of its many Oscar nominations.

Flipped a coin, then let your critique sway us. Going to see Silver Linings tomorrow afternoon...will have to see Les Mis later, lol.

Just saw Silver Linings Playbook with my husband. While I thought it started kind of slowly, my husband was soon laughing at the DeNiro character's quirkiness (I think everyone knows some one like that), and I was loving the humor in the dancing. Not my favorite movie, even of this year, but good, solid entertainment. No obnoxiously overbearing vulgarity, but there is some bad language and brief nudity, so...not for the kids. All the acting was good.

DirecTV had a free premium channel preview a few weeks back, so I loaded the DVR with tons of movies. I've just started watching them recently.
The Adjustment Beaureu- Well made, entertaining movie. The ads for it didn;t do it justice. Def worth a rent.
John Carter- Big, shiny action-adventure movie. Lot of excitement, lot of fun. Wish it wouldn't have bombed, b/c I would've gladly checked out the sequels they had planned.
A Separation- Iranian film that got a lot of critical love last year. Very well made, pretty gripping at times. Def worth a rent.
Project X- Nothing special, but it did a good job of capturing that feeling of throwing a party that begins to spiral out of control.
Harold and Kumar Christmas- Nothing Special, but good for a few laughs. The two lead actors are great in their respective roles.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes- Much better than the ads made it seem. I remember this getting fairly good reviews. It def earned them.
Our Idiot Brother- Funnier than I thought it would be. More sweet than silly. Worth a rent.
