I agree with him.

I can't wait to listen to this podcast.

Heck, your profile signature goes a step further.

I'm trying to figure out where I can legally bet on the C's to win it all this season without having to go to New Jersey.

Delaware, but that’s probably not much better for you.

"I'll have an order of buffalo wings and the Cs to win it all, please."

Mike

I like it. But I want to get in there while the odds are still good. If they come out of the box hot, those odds are going to change.

He’s not wrong.

Health would be the only issue.

Health and/or Kawhi.  Tho I expect us in the finals.

Even after adding Kawhi, the Raptors have fewer weapons than the Cs, IMO. I expect Boston to win the East in the regular season and in the postseason.

Yes, and the Spurs with Kawhi had fewer weapons than all the other top teams, yet they consistently won 55-60 games.  I mean, when Zaza injured him that Spurs team with a slumping Aldridge could've taken game 1 from Durant/Curry/Klay/Dray, up 22+ points.

Kawhi is good enough that he is a system in and of himself (on both sides of the ball) and he gives most well constructed teams a chance to beat most other teams.  I think Brad and yes our starting 5 is the reason we beat them, but I wouldn't rule him/them out.

why? what if the team was so good that he didn't need to? wouldn't that prove his point?

"No question"?

If Lebron said this last February, cbers would be tearing him apart for being over-confident.  Even though he had been to 7 straight and he eventually did get there.

Yet this talk is being somewhat celebrated here (aside from a few) from a guy who has never been to a finals.

Interesting.

LeBron says things like this all the time. Just this past March: ‘If I come into your building for a Game 1, I can be very challenging’

He was right to be confident then and many people agreed with him, myself included. I agree with JB's answer as well.

I wouldn't rely on Brown to back up his words after game 7 last playoffs. It's going to be on others to get the job done

I forgot that 1 game defined a player.

JB dropped 27 in game 6 of that series, which was an elimination game too.

Yeah, Rozier and Brown were the only two players that showed up in that game 6. If just one other guy showed up it would have been Celtics in 6.

No where in that quote did Brown say, I am the alpha dog and I am going to lead our team in scoring and lead the team to the finals.  He said he expects the team to be in the finals.  I don't think that is cocky or anything.  Boston should have the best team in the East this year.  Why shouldn't we be in the finals?

To those who were complaining about an off game 7 performance by Brown - Brown averaged 18ppg / shot 39.3% from 3 in 32mpg for 18 playoff games in the playoffs.  He was injured for a few of those games and managed to play through it showing a lot of toughness.  He was HUGE in the playoffs.   Plus, he averaged 19.7 ppg in the eastern conf. finals which lead the team.  That seems pretty clutch to me.

Brown looked like a star in the Eastern Conference Finals and if it hadnt been for injury  he may have looked like out best player in the playoffs period. The guy is going to put it all together this season and send notice to the league.

I remember at the beginning of the season a debate on here as to wether JB had 'elite' jumping ability or not, lol!

Really one game? Let's not forget a few games he did not perform. And game 7 is a lot bigger than game 6
