I like Greg and I wish him well. I'm glad he was a Celtic.

Good player who's playing in the wrong era. I'm not kidding when I say we likely win titles in 87 and 10 with Monroe. However, he's a veteran minimum journeyman in today's NBA.

The Moose to Canada is very fitting.  Good luck to Greg who I've always liked and I hope they play him A LOT against us.

Like him on the O side of the ball, but he's awful on the D side of the ball.

Isn't this the truth. Guy would have been a legend in the 90's..

Poor guy. Should have gone to China and became a legend. Sucks a player that talented can’t find a steady situation or good contract in a league that’s practically a different sport now. He seems like a good guy and is a good team mate by all accounts. I wish him the best.

This completely.  In 80's-90's he's a starter on a playoff team.  Would Larry bird be a center now?

Good luck to him. I liked Monroe when he was here and I know his defensive limitations kept him off the floor in the playoffs but I can't help but wonder what his rebounding and inside scoring might have done for the C's if he played a little more.

It's really crazy how these back to the basket traditional big guys are being phased out of the game. Like, these guys are on the verge of extinction at this point.

Yeah, Bird, who played mostly the 3, would be the ultimate playmaking/stretch 4/5. Plus, he wouldn't be dealing with hand checking, so his physicality and overall skill level would make him an impossible cover.

McHale's game is one that I think would translate extremely well. Here's a guy that's ability to guard guys like Dr. J, Worthy, Dantley, Dominque, etc. would be well suited for today's game and the amount of switching done. Plus, his 3PT shooting, which he began to shoot them the last few years, would give him more offensive versatility. I would expect if he played today his 3pt attempts would skyrocket. He would still be a terror in the low post, but imagine him working inside and surrounded by shooters and the spacing the emphasis on defending the 3 now creates.

Remember when some wanted to give him the max/trade Brooklyn picks for him  ;D

Honestly I was pretty disappointed in his performance in the playoffs last year. He just looks way too slow at both ends. Opposing defenses really seemed to shut him down at inopportune times.
