The ceiling is so muc higher for doncic, special player, unique skillset and ability.
Young might become just another buddy hield. Doncic is going to be a european version of LBJ

I still think Hield could peak as a 22-4-4 guy if Sacto was developing him. Prolly still no D tho.

Kyrie will continue using the word appreciative.

This prediction is most definitely reality-based.

Jayson Tatum will average around 45% from three on high volume.
Hawks come out as robbers in the Trae/Doncic swap as Trae performs to a level close to Doncic and the Mavs yield them a lottery pick.
That is very bold
That is very likely imo
Why? Why do you think Trae Young will succeed at the NBA level at a comparable rate to Doncic?

I think Trae Young will absolutely fail to reach expectations. Mo Williams' and he will have comparable peaks I think
Yeah and Doncic will be Jimmer Fredette if that happens

The Celtics have the NBA's best record by the all star break but just 1 all star, Kyrie Irving.

Horford's scoring will drop low enough that he won't get in. Hayward's personality along with being presumably rusty suggests to me that he won't score enough to get in despite the name recognition. Then Brown and Tatum would both need to have great first half numbers to make it and neither will score enough. Basically, shots will be too evenly distributed to justify another all-star.

Too often, we judge other groups by their worst examples while judging ourselves by our best intentions.

I think Doncic will be like a 130% version of peak Manu at the peak of his career - basically, 25/6/6. I think Trae Young will be bad. Can’t defend, pretty poor shot selection and bad size.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

And Trae Young will be 130% of prime Mark Price-24/11/4 imo. His defense has actually impressed me a bit considering all the negativity around it, he does give effort when he needs to and seems to be passable when he does that. His shot selection imo will improve over time, he did show flashes of being able to make the right decision in his better SL games and I think he'll find ways to mke his size an advantage-eg. zipping around the court at high speeds off ball, squeezing into tight spaces, etc. I absolutely agree with your assessment on Doncic but I think you're very low on Young.

I don't deny that I'm low on Young at all. I see nothing to write home about

He'd better be that guy lol, we gave up a lot for him asset wise (although it did turn out great for us at the end).

If the ATLANTA (freaking) HAWKS can send FOUR players in 2015 with the best record, surely we can send more than 1.

Pistons did it without gaudy numbers too. I think if we have best record we send 2, maybe 3.
