Just for fun...

Let's assume the starting 5 is going to be Kyrie, Hayward, Tatum, Brown and Horford and they're healthy all year. Where will their scoring averages fall for the whole regular season? I think overall FG% is going to be up because everyone is a scoring threat from all over the floor.

I say:

Kyrie Irving: 23ppg, 50% fg, 42% 3pt
Jayson Tatum: 20ppg, 50% fg, 43% 3pt
Gordon Hayward: 19ppg, 48% fg, 40% 3pt
Jaylen Brown: 16ppg, 48% fg, 40% 3pt
Al Horford: 10ppg, 52% fg, 42% 3pt

I'd go with:
Kyrie - 22
Brown - 15
Hayward - 18
Tatum - 17
Horford - 12

@CF033
So you think our starting five is going to average 88 pts on 49.6% fg and 41.4% from 3? We will be the best offensive team of ALL TIME.

I'm guessing

Irving-20
Tatum-16
Hayward - 15
Brown-14
Horford-9

All with good splits.

Remember the golden rule of estimating player ppg - since guys miss games the totals will always add up to a higher number than what the players actually contribute in a typical game.

That said I go

Kyrie 22
Hayward 19
Tatum 17
Brown 15
Horford 11

More importantly, predict the assist numbers.

Kyrie 7 (career high)
Horford 6 (career high)
Hayward 5 (career high)
Tatum 2
Brown 2

This team is going to drop a lot of 120+ points on teams. Considering they play good "D" a lot of the games will be over by end of the 3rd quarter.

Al Horford: 10ppg, 52% fg, 42% 3pt

If the shooting %s are anywhere near that high, you can go ahead and start making a new banner.

Kyrie  - 22
Hayward - 18
Tatum - 17
Brown - 14
Horford - 12

If everyone stays relatively healthy, there's just too many people for anyone more than Kyrie to get 20 on a regular basis.

I was def just a little on the enthusiastic side with my predictions :). But I do feel pretty confident that this starting five has a really good chance of shooting 40%+ from behind the three point line as a unit, just based on past perfomances and the fact that we should be seeing a lot of open looks. I believe this team is going to be a terror for other teams to defend.

All 5 guys have elite level 3 point range, can create their own shots and take the ball to the hole.

Really, which of these guys can defenses slack off of? Jaylen Brown? Al Horford?

Should be an interesting season!

lol My Celtics franchise in NBA 2K18 nearly matches the OP's predictions for totals and splits.

It might seem far fetched but it's not unprecedented.  Last years Warriors starting lineup averaged a total of 89.2 PPG on 49.7 FG% and 40% from three.  The first year with Durant they also averaged 89 PPG with slightly worse splits.  Granted, injuries make slightly higher totals a possibility.  No way they were truly averaging 89 PPG in games where all 5 played.

My predictions below:

Kyrie - 21 PPG, 49% FG, 43% 3pt
Tatum - 18 PPG, 48% FG, 44% 3pt
Hayward - 17 PPG 48% FG, 40% 3pt
Jaylen - 15 PPG 48% FG, 40% 3pt
Horford - 10 PPG, 50% FG, 37% 3pt

Altogether I think the Celtics will average around 110 PPG and be among the top 3 most efficient offenses in the league.

The thing I adoreis that Al isn't a natural scorer, even if he is capable, and this 5 puts him in his natural spot. He can create for other 4 and score when its a gimmie.
BTW, I think only Brown and Tatum play 30 mpg.

I think a really good prop bet is whether the Cs starters can average above 40% from 3 for the year. Kyrie I expect to shoot >40% on a fairly high volume, as he has 3 of the last four years. The rest of the players have the potential but are major question marks. Al shot 43% from 3 last year and Gordon was a hair under 40 his last year in Utah, but these were significant improvements from past performance. Will that stick? Jayson and Jaylen both also obviously improved last year - Jayson shooting a scorching 43.4%, Jaylen up at 39.5%. Will one or more regress? Very hard to say. It does work in our favor I think that they should get an unusually high volume of good looks...

Ok, I'll be fairly bullish on Kyrie and try to deviate from agreeing with many on Hayward & Al.

Kyrie - 23
Brown - 14
Hayward - 16
Tatum - 17
Horford - 10

Starters - 80 PPG

Bench - 29 PPG

Rozier - 8
Smart - 7
Morris - 8
Theis - 3
Baynes - 3

TOTAL - 109 PPG

Elite offense, D worse than last year with Baynes sitting, but we win 60+ and make the finals.
