@Sportando: As reported by Ismail Senol and confirmed to Sportando, American point guard Shane Larkin has agreed to a one-year deal with Turkish side Anadolu Efes. The strong interest of Efes for Larkin was first reported by Spanish journalist Chema de Lucas.

Larkin averaged 4.3 points per game last season with the Boston Celtics.

Wondering why Danny didn't try to bring him back. Probably could have had him come back for cheap.

EDIT:

@IAmDPickCeltics free agent guard Shane Larkin confirms to me that he is leaving the NBA to sign a $1.8M, one-year offer sheet with Anadolu Efes.

Seems like NBA teams weren't interested.

I haven't  found any details on the deal but Turks pay a lot of money.

David Pick claims that he'll earn 1.8 million dollars in the upcoming season with Anadolu Efes:

That contract isn't much bigger than the veteran minimum deal which NBA teams can offer.

I think it is 1.8 after taxes and usually doesn't include bonuses and extras

Still it is strange cause last summer he got a 5.5m/2y offer from Barcelona and choose the NBA... Opting now to play in turkey for one season doesn't look like a great idea

Best of luck to him. I liked the way he played while he was here. Just not quite big enough or talented enough.

Not strange at all.  He gave it another shot at The Big Time, essentially betting on himself.  Didn't work out so he folded and went back to where he knew he could make some decent coin.

Playing in the NBA finals should worth more than a couple hundred thousands but I can't blame him for going after the paycheck

Was there a finals team offering him a spot?

Cheapest contract Larkin could have possibly signed with the C's would have been at $1,512,601 (1 year deal for the vet minimum).

Cheapest contract Jabari Bird can sign with the C's is $1,349,383 on year 1 (2 year deal for the vet minimum). Both seasons can be fully unguaranteed.

If the C's acquire the rights to a drafted player with zero years of experience, they can offer him even lower than that.

I bet this is the reason we didn't sign Larkin. Danny wanted to save money cause chances are that we want to avoid the tax.

Btw, here is a video from a promo event organized by Anadolu Efes (Larkin's new team) about 4-5 years ago. It's hands down the best sports related video I've ever seen.

Someone also mentioned on another topic that Cs would have to sign him for multiple years

Close.  If the Celtics has signed him for one year, Larkin would have had a no-trade clause.
