He torched the Red  Claws for 40 last season, maybe that’s when he caught the eye of Celtics scouts?

He played with the Pelicans in summer league, and signed a 10-day contract last year.  He averaged 22ppg in the D-League.

Danny Ainge confirms @Shams Charania report that Celtics have agreed to terms with PG Walter Lemon Jr. on two-way deal. "Speed, strength and experience," he said.

I would venture a guess that nobody on the board saw this one coming.

His numbers are exactly jumping out at me. Ok a 6'3 guard. An area that we are light in  ::)

'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021

I wonder how much this makes a difference. Over the last 16 months Ainge has added 3 rookies with many years of professional experience in Europe. Theis and Larkin showed why as their experiences helped them to assimilate fast and contribute positively right away while not having to many mistakes on the court.

This team is in win it all now mode. Danny and Brad may not have the patience to babysit players 22 and younger, get them to learn how to be a professional, or develop enough to put them on the court with cinfidence they won't be a major net negative on the court.

The Celtics already have raw players like Yabusele, Williams and either Nader and Bird. They just don't need players in the 2way contracts that will take 2-3 years to develop into a end of the roster player. They need players that could jump in in case of emergency and contribute.

well, as an nba player he does shoot 100% from 3 point range. for his career he is 1 for 1.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

TP. Think this is right on point. Guys with enough skill and experience to jump in as emergency players when a rash of injuries occur. Don't want green UDFAs who didn't have enough talent to get drafted and who still need to develop skills and professionalism.

Ainge didn’t get a chance to draft a 6’3 guard this year so he managed to find one elsewhere. He needs to acquire at least one every summer
