Just when you think Trump can't be any more of an idiot, he is more of an idiot.

Plus, "he hadn't thought of..." demanding that Putin extradite the indicted Russias...
We have zero leadership from the white house.

Siding with the deranged murderer of 5 people at a newspaper in Maryland.  **** bombing our allies in europe, and siding with the man who ordered the Russian Interference in our elections.  Has the world just gone completely nuts?  How do we have a president like this?

He knows what he's doing. He's still playing to his base with these type of comments. As terrible as these type of comments are, this is what a lot of the people who voted him in want to hear from him.

He should be leading our country instead of playing to his base.  He is a stain on our country.

I agree, but so are most of the people in Congress nowadays, and this is how both sides operate.

Publicly he's playing to his base, but I'm sure privately Trump and the rest of the U.S. officials are having much more normal talks with foreign officials, based on policies that have existed before Trump, and will exist after him.

Trying to normalize Trump's behavior isn't going to make things better.  I am not convinced at all that 'behind the scenes' things are all that normal.  Since when does a sitting president go to have a summit with a leader of a country that just attacked us?  Make no mistake it was an attack.  The intelligence community and the FBI and congress all agree.  And the Russians are continuing to do it.  What has Trump done about it?  Nothing.  He actually tried to Block and reduce sanctions on Russia.  He tried to distract Americans from who was behind the election hacking.

Did FDR go and sit down with the japanese after pearl harbor?  did Bush go sit and have a pow-wow with Bin-Landin after 9/11?  Nothing about Trump's behavior is normal.

In context, Trump is using “foe” like competitor. On trade, he’s not really wrong.

As for the news media, they’re the enemy of the truth. They’re shoving bias down the throats of their viewers, who can’t get enough of the junk being peddled.

You don't need to have anything shoved down your throat to be embarrassed and appalled at these latest things coming out of Trumps mouth.  You just have to read what he said Roy.  Where is the media bias in a direct [dang] quote?  Trying to say that we are all sheep being led by the 'enemy media' is disgusting.

Literally in September 2016.

Whether Trump is regularly truthful (he’s not) is separate and apart from whether the media is heavily biased (it is). Neither Trump nor the media is interested in the objective truth.

Agreed the media whether left or right leaning has lot of news shows that are more interested in promoting their own view rather than post the facts.

The sept 2016 meeting was the freaking G20 summit, before we were sure that all the hacking was done by the russians and not a one on one only dedicated meeting.  Nice job moving the goal posts.

Has Trump done anything, said anything against Russia since all the indictments?  Nope.  Not one word from the White House against Russia.  Has Trump pushed for more sanctions?  Has Trump made any response at all other than saying we should be friends with Russia?

I am sorry that is not all media spin.

When the media makes a mistake, I have seen corrections issued and even people being fired. That is, obviously, not Trump’s MO.

I have yet to see the media issue a story and then hours later insist they never did, as Trump does even with his own taped statements. I have yet to see anything comparable to Trump’s repeated use of obvious, easily falsifiable lies. Starting from the size of his inauguration crowd and on down to last week. Getting Germany’s consumption of Russian energy wrong by a factor of 10. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2018/07/13/trump-is-exaggerating-germanys-reliance-on-russia-for-energy.html. Getting basic facts about the navy wrong in a speech at the naval academy. It would take all day to list them all, and maybe tomorrow. https://www.google.com/amp/thehill.com/policy/defense/389435-defense-expert-lists-six-trump-errors-in-two-minutes-of-his-navy-speech-inbox%3famp

Trumo’s game, like that of most authoritarians, is to find any fault in his opponents and use it to convince you they are just as bad as he is - and at least he’s being honest about being a scoundrel. This is the kind of thing that makes corruption flourish and democracy wither. It can get much worse, and it will if Americans refuse to acknowledge what Trump is because he plays for their team.

I hate Trump and agree with this. Most of the mainstream media is highly partisan. You have networks both proclaiming to tell the real truth but the real truth is somewhere in the middle.

That said, Fox has devolved into a propaganda agency and away from a news repirting agency.

A couple of the left leaning media giants only report Trump's lies and anything that Trump does that is bad. They never report stuff he does that is good, though in their defense, Trump lies a ton and screws up a lot.

What I hate about the whole thing is Trump's war against the media from the get go, I mean even before he was elected. Can't remember any other President ever warring with the media. Its disgraceful.

Perhaps this is the part where we can start sniffling that he walked in front of the queen and didn't bow to her, and then sat in Winston Churchill's chair (like a boss!).

Oh, and also when her corgis leapt up at him he didn't even give them a treat or pat them even though he was expressly told that he should. (Ok I made that last part up.)

Roy, you're right.  You never see a CNN story critical of a Democrat pol - on policy.  Only negative stories are when someone like Al Franken does something stupid that torpedo's his political career. Same for Fox - nothing critical of Republicans on any issue - unless they're opposing Trump. The Washington Post has become a PR firm for the far left. As as the NY Times in a lot of ways.

What Trump is trying to do bashing the media at every opportunity IS alarming - but at the same time these idiots running these news organizations deserve it. They are failing at their mission - and helping to divide the country.
