I remember being on the side of the debate that Isaiah was not a max guy. I didn't feel his size and style of play would be sustainable. Danny made a tough call, but it was the correct decision in trading IT. I like how Danny didn't get caught up in the hype and felt like he needed to upgrade at PG to put the Celtics in a better position to win a title.

The IT situation (pre-trade) with the Celtics reminds me of Dustin Pedroia with the Red Sox. When the Red Sox resigned Pedroia to his most recent contract, I had no issue with the money per year, but rather the number of years. Like IT, Pedroia is undersized and plays with reckless abandoned. At some point their bodies were very likely to break down and never be the same players again. Pedroia may be done, and who knows what we'll see from Isaiah again.
