What do you guys think about the Celtics taking a chance on Jahlil Okafor as a potential cheap, younger Monroe replacement/upgrade?

He's still very young and has potential as a scorer, despite his weaknesses on defense. We could also use another big man on the roster that complements the defense and athleticism of Robert Williams.

If you mean replacing Monroe’s poor performance for us last year, you might be on to something.

I don’t know what minutes he’d get behind Horford, Theis, and Baynes, with Hayward’s return likely making us go small more regularly.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Sure. CBS can make something of him.

Remember when lots of people wanted to trade a lotto pick for him? I think the #3 Jalen Brown pick was discussed around the webs. 😁

Black hole/Ballstopper on offense, no effort on defense.

I’ll never say never, but so far in his career he’s been the anti-Celtic.

Not going to happen.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021

I think there may be a very good chance Okafor is playing overseas this season or next. Yes, he just is that bad.

Well played. A tp for you.

Without regards to Okafor, I think quite a few people would take issue with the notion that the team is stacked with bigs.

Those same people may carry around Old fashioned ideas of what constitutes a “big” in today’s nba.

Or they just may realize that the team's not actually stacked at the 5 position, regardless of current NBA trends.

There is no "5" position with us. We have Bigs, Wings, and Ball Handlers. Okafor is a slow plodding big man who can't play a lick of defense. He is a bad fit with us and in today's game which is why he couldn't even get minutes on the horrible Nets. We are certainly stacked enough with Bigs that Okafor is not someone we should consider for even a second.

Don't let Jahlil anywhere near Bob Williams.
