He had a 14 year career. It was good, but I expected a little more from him.
No one ever built an entire offense around him like they did for Dwight in Orlando. He was a brilliant offensive talent.
Largely because most teams considered him not good enough to build around. In Boston he was traded for Garnett. In Minnesota he was traded after being beaten out be Kevin Love. In Utah he was beaten out by Milsap.
Saying "he was not good enough" is a relative statement. Being traded for any of those guys is actually a complement.
Al Jefferson was indeed a special offensive talent. He did lack defensive skills (but so does Kevin Love!) but he wasn't terrible. Al's problem was the league began changing a few years ago, and any bigs who didn't develop a 3-point shot were left out.
