Injuries happen so I could be interested in the future. Right now no.

It may only cost the veteran minimum now. If you wait for a possible injury, then you have to trade assets for most likely a less talented player than Carmelo. He's not going to be on the market long. Then again, if you do sign him, the Celtics will have the option of either cutting or trading him if it doesn't work out.
If we added him now it would mean someone has to go. Likely candidate would be Morris. But depending on what happens with Smart you may also end up with going over the tax. It's all very complicated. There could be a chance of moving Rozier and Morris if a deal with Smart gets done to relieve the tax. That then opens the spot for Melo. Again complicated.
