A well known TV personal injury attorney had big billboards all over LA months ago with the words #LA Bron and Laker colored jersey with number 23 on it. The only thing they  did not have was a picture of James.

Here are my questions.

Given the use of LeBron's name or something close to it, his number and the Lakers' colors did LeBron have to agree to the use of his name on that billboard under privacy laws or commercial appropriation laws. Did this attorney have to get permission from the Lakers and/or LeBron or not. If he had to, and did get permission does it not mean that LeBron and/or Lakers violated NBA tampering rules.

If this attorney is a Laker Super fan as the ads claim was he working on behalf of the Lakers and sending a message to LeBron through the billboards?

In college football, boosters of a school cannot give extra benefits to recruits. Boosters has been defined to include season ticket holders. If this attorney is a Laker booster then his outright solicitation of LeBron can be imputed to the Lakers and thus be a violation.

The Lakers are always tampering with other team's players.

This morning they have Cowherd dumping on Boston and openly soliciting Durant and Clay Thompson to Lakers next year.

Philly had Lebron billboards. LA had Paul George billboards. It's become a regular part of cities recruiting NBA players.

No I agree 100%. Brian widhorst from ESPN essentially admitted it after it happened. His entire team of lawyer, accounts, agents, nutritionist, etc. Has been steadily moving to LA.

The NBA is so set up. It's still great theater, but scripted theater.

When he left for Miami it was also decided before the Celtics whooped him, methinks.

I recall him saying during the 2010 season he was changing his number to 6 to honor Russell, or something like that.

It just so happens that Miami retired #23, and considering he wore 23 when he returned to Cleveland, he only did that because he couldn’t wear 23 in Miami.
