The only think I would want from Minny is KAT
That's the one thing they're not giving up either. Even over Jimmy walking.

This Irving to Minnesota thing has been talked about before. I could see that deal happening a lot more than Butler coming to the C's.

I'd actually do the Kat for Irving deal after what just happened with Warriors. No one is winning against that team for a while so stock up on young growing stars.

Cousins is going to be in GS for 1 season, half of which will be rehabbing from an Achilles rupture. People need to stop panicking.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I've advocated for Jimmy Butler before, but there's an alarming pattern emerging with him. His younger Bulls teammates didn't like him and now he's clashing with the young guys in Minnesota. Sure, some of that can be the young guys aren't matching his work ethic and are therefore underachieving, but he's leaving a lot to be desired in the leadership department.

The Wolves aren't trading Butler mid-season unless he outright tells them he's gone. We are long way from that.

Count me in for an Irving for KAT swap. Horford won't last forever and I am confident enough in our current guard core that I don't think the hit would be that hard. KAT would also be a bit cheaper than Irving.

If not KAT, then I'd obviously be in favor of an AD deal and possibly a Kawhi deal. I like Irving and am more than happy to re-sign him, but I am not going to feel comfortable until he signs on the dotted line. I just wish he could make a promise. It isn't ridiculous given the current circumstances of our team moving forward.

I think the C's are in pretty good shape to retain Irving, I wouldn't stress about it or look to move him unless he says he's 100% out trade me.

This is the new NBA though, stars are going to make their teams sweat.

Yeah I don’t think it’s a given what team Kyrie is on this time next year. I wouldn’t trade him for Towns though. I can understand why Butler has a problem with him.

Well, it would surprise me.

Knicks are on the hook for $60M in payroll next year. And that does NOT include Porzingis' likely max extension.

So really their payroll will be more like $86M. And a good chunk of it are deadweight stiffs like Joakim Noah.

It's going to require effort just for them to afford Irving, let alone Butler. They'd need a sign-and-trade for Butler, and they'd need to include deadweight contracts like Courtney Lee and Joakim Noah. Guys nobody wants. This means the price will be high for the Wolves, who want to build a contender. The Knicks don't have the assets to make it worth their while.

And even if they DID complete a trade, the Knicks would be left with a shell of a team. Porzingis, Irving, and Butler is not nearly enough to beat a well-rounded Golden State.

PLUS, the Knicks are a never-ending dumpster fire. Irving has already been in one trashy organization. Why would he leave a loaded team to go to the Knicks? I get he has ties there. But he's only a 3-hour drive away as it is. No-one in their right mind would leave Boston for New York right now.

Yeah I think the Knicks could get there but the team would just be Butler/Kyrie/Porzingis.

While with bulls wasn't there a beef with butler and younger guys and rondo stuck up for younger guys ?

I like butlers game but Jaylen is already on team, under contract, great attitude and shows he'll end up at same level (IMO) so we can do without a trade

Much ado about nothing.

Not to mention Minny is preparing a max offer for Butler.
