I'm happy with the balance of power in the NBA right now, because I feel like my Celtics have probably the best starting five in the East and made a basically perfect draft pick. But what if Lebron goes to the Sixers? If they then re-sign Reddick that seems like a better team than ours (with Lebron, obviously - Simmons' flaws make them an also ran without him imho).

Anyone else worried? Feel free to tell me why I'm crazy to be worked up about it!

Everything I have seen indicates there is not any chance of this happening.

James to Philadelphia would hurt the Celtics.

For someone trying to win now, I don't see how Philly or LA's roster makes sense for a 33-34 year old. Especially with PG13 locked into OKC.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

If his priority is trying to win now, the Sixers are the clear choice.  Lakers have no chance in the West.  The Cavs don't have enough assets to get another star.

Not about winning now

It is about lifestyle and setting up after his career

Wife is interested in living in Los Angeles

That's why I fear Philly as a destination. LA or Cleveland ensures he wins nothing.

How do you play Simmons and James together? Both are ball dominating and Simmons does nothing to space the floor

Whether it's Philly, Lakers, Cleveland, even GS, it absolutely doesn't matter where LBJ goes. This Celtics team without injuries will beat all of them. Especially Philly, with Lebron, it doesn't matter, the Celtics are better....Bar None.

Not sure Boston would beat Philly with James

So apparently part of Philly’s pitch to Lebron will be a supposed confidence that they can win the Kawhi sweepstakes and pair the two together in Philly.

Barring the logistics and reality of this (I think LA would pony up the necessary assets to get Kawhi and pair him with Lebron before they’re both in Philly), do you think this (plus the whole George situation) would make Danny more aggressive in the Kawhi talks?

While I think a team with Lebron and Kawhi in Philly is still a toss-up against a fully healthy Boston squad (while potentially more talented on the whole, I really question the fit of Simmons, Kawhi, Lebron, and Embiid), that’s a potential juggernaut for the next couple of years that we would have to face in the East. I wonder if Danny would be proactive in trying to get Kawhi to avoid that situation and ultimately offer up Brown and/or the Sacramento pick.

I'm under the impression that in order to make cap room, the Sixers would only have the $4.4 MM room exception to resign JJ Redick. Possible, if Redick wants a ring more than the money, but he made $23MM this year, although a fluke contract, and certainly could make the MLE at least somewhere else.

I wouldn't worry about this, I'm sure he's going to the Lakers and I think he's already decided.
