In theory, if we wanted to move up in the draft, what draft spot do you think we could get for #27 +

1) 19 Clippers pick, or
2) 19 Celtics pick

And in the range you think we’d move up to with one of those picks, who would you target?
2023 Non-Active / Non-NBA75 Fantasy Draft, ChiBulls:

PG: Deron Williams 07-08 / M.R. Richardson 80-81 / J. Wall 16-17
SG: David Thompson 77-78 / Hersey Hawkins 96-97
SF: Tracy McGrady 02-03 / Tayshaun Prince 06-07
PF: Larry Nance Sr 91-92 / Blake Griffin 13-14
C: Bob Lanier 76-77 / Brad Daugherty 92-93 / M. Camby 06-07

Think the real target is Divincenzo. They need to get up to at least 16 to get him.

Honestly, probably in the 18-23 range.

The Clippers Pick, if I'm not mistaken, becomes a 2nd rounder IF it doesn't convey between 16-30 next season. So it has value but not high value either, unless of course Kawhi is traded there on Draft Night and it becomes likely LAC is a playoff team next year.

That said, I could see Ainge doing it if someone like Divincenzo, Spellman or another prospect is there in the 18-24 range likely to get picked and Ainge is SUPER HIGH on that prospect.

#23-25 for the Clippers, maybe a touch better if we include the 2019 Cs pick.

The best that pick could become would be a #15, but that's unlikely. And #27 plus a second-rounder, which the pick could ultimately become, doesn't do much.

I just don't see a trade like that happening.

Either our pick or the Clips pick would have significant value over the summer and next year as:
1. Part of a trade for a quality vet at the trade deadline, for our championship push;
2. Part of a bigger package that nets us a star;
3. A sweetener if there's a player/contract we have to move, for chemistry or payroll/tax reasons.

All three of those scenarios seem higher-value than a chance to move up 4 spots, just to slightly increase the chances we get a good player - and one who might be good some day, but could very well not be ready for a single playoff minute next season.

If the Clippers do something in the offseason like trade for Kawai then the pick at that time becomes more valuable because it's a pick around 20.  Right now with the state of the Clippers this pick is not that valuable.  The Memphis pick and the Kings pick have a lot of value.   Kings a lot more then Memphis.  For the C's to move up 5-7 spots the Memphis pick has to be involved.  From all research it seems players from the 17-35 range are rated extremely close so there is no point making a deal.  Now if anything I can see the C's move down with Atlanta and pick up pick #34 but I just don't see the C's making a push giving up assets to move up a few spots.

Yeah, I agree overall, but I don't think it's entirely that straightforward.

The wrinkle is if Danny thinks there's 1 guy on the board at 21 who could be an above average 6th man, the guy is surely gone by 27, and everyone else looks mediocre, then I see no reason why DA wouldn't include the LAC pick if it could end up a 2nd, and we still have 3 1sts in 2019.

I think DiVincenzo and Khyri Thomas could be guys like this, and I see a few other wildcards.  The thing is, while we need rookie contracts, we would benefit from consolidating a few picks also.

I agree with a few comments here, the Clips pick is lottery protected in 2019 and 2020.  If it doesn't convey in 2020 it becomes a 2022 second round pick.  The better question is what does the 27 and either the Memphis or Sacramento pick get you (or both)?  That's where we have the ammo to move way up.  Rozier, #27, Sacramento pick can move the needle.....

You are mistaken. It becomes a 2nd if the Clippers don’t pick 15-30 in the next two seasons.  I’d say there’s at least a 50% chance it becomes a mid-1st in the next two years.

I think it would get us to the 18-22 range.  I would be very happy to acquire Kevin Huerter in that range.

Please do not trade the SAC or MEM pick to move from late 20's to late teens.
