Bummer the Celts have the 27th pick.  I would throw in next seasons Celts 1st to try to move up 3-4 spots.

IF one of these 4 players drop though,  Danny should consider picking (in no order)

Aaron Holiday 6'1 PG
* Has some Kyrie Irving in his game.  Just like Irving also below the rim. But can score using tricks/creativity. Very confident with the ball in his hands.  Good at directing the offense/passing or exposing free space and taking it to the hole. Also a good shooter. Very quick. Small size (6'6 wingspan though).  Defensive versatility limitation at the next level

Donte Divicenzo 6'5 guard
* 2017-2018 NCAA tournament mvp.  Clutch scorer/shooter. Scrappy defender. Explosive (40 plus max vert leap). Average wingspan and is not a pure SG or PG.

Highlights

Omari Spellman 6'9 PF
* Good passing big man that can shoot the 3 and overall play a responsible team game.  Was on the same team (Villanova) with Divicenzo that won the 2017/2018 tourney. Excellent wingspan, widebody but also has good agility.  Not a go to player, very good team defender but question mark about isolation defense at the NBA level.  Needs to get into better shape

Highlights

Troy Brown 6'6 SF
* Good frame, Smart and versatile defender.  Offensively can do a bit of everything.  Doesn't excel as a go to guy.  Shot could get better.  Not an explosive athlete but very good

Highlights

worst case

Josh Okogie - 6'4 guard
*
one of the best athletes of the draft. But also shot 41 percent overall. Streaky.  Alot of forced shots (though had to shoulder more of the offensive load this season) and needs to work on jump shot consistency.  But is a good defender when focused, rebounder, strong, explosive.  Comparison: Rozier

Highlights

Grayson Allen - 6'5 guard
*
Older prospect (senior).  Lacks nba level lateral quickness, explosiveness but can leap in space. Hard worker and can shoot the 3.  Comparison: Dellavedova but better leaper

I think any of Allen, Khyri Thomas, Divincenzo or Wagner would be great. Jury is still out for me on Spellman. He is very slow and I am afraid would have a hard time defending.

Afraid it will be Okogie, Melton or Bruce Brown as a firewall for smart leaving. Okogie and Brown are below average shooters and average offensive players in the mold of Semi, who to me should be sent to Maine next year until he can show he can shoot. I will be disappointed if Okogie or Brown is the pick. Melton seems just like another guy.

Just don't see nba calibre skills from Thomas. I do like Wagner but his emotions can get the best of him.  There are defensive worries at the next level

Spellman is slow due to his girth.  I think if he shapes up, he can add quickness.  Everything else is nice for a PF/C in the 22-27 range

Per Ryan Rusillio:

Can never tell if teams are really trying to move up or everyone just calls each other to see what the action is. However, two teams that I’m hearing are the most aggressive to get in the top 10, Clippers and Celtics.

Celtics wont climb in unless they offer alot

I doubt it

Shouldnt be too tough for clippers. Flip the 12 and 13.

Agreed that Celtics won't climb in. Too much to give up. Someone in the top 10 is just floating the Cs name in an effort to drive up the asking price.

TP on the useful thread. But I have to say that each year the Celtics are drafting I'm pretty much thinking "things would be great if they were a few spots higher." I don't see this year as any different in that respect.

I think it's almost guaranteed that one of those guys is available at 27,

in order of likelihood:
Spellman
Allen
Okogie
Brown
Holiday
DiVincenzo

In other words, I think you've got a guaranteed shot at Okogie, Allen or Spellman

I'd prefer Brown or DiVincenzo from your list...if not Khyri Thomas.  I hope other teams feels the same about Thomas as you...so he falls and Danny takes him.

I think that this is a poor strategy because the Celtics will be in the luxury for a long time. They'll need a steady stream of NBA ready, high floor / low ceiling, cheap contracts to be bench/rotational players for 4 years then let them walk. Giving away next year's #1 pick to move up a few slots is just really bad policy given our financial situation.

Anyone but Okogie.

I think CBS could help refine his game.  I mean on the Celts to start out...he can't be launching bad shots

Unless you get Marcus Smart like privilege due to being a plus elsewhere on the floor

Where's the love for Mitchell Robinson, Triboy?
