Lebron has switched teams twice over his career (once to go from Cleveland to Miami, another time to go from Miami back to Cleveland).

He made his first move the summer of 2010, and his second move the summer of 2014.

Know what else was happening those two summers (2010, 2014)? THE WORLD CUP!

What's happening right now? THE WORLD CUP! :o  :P

He's officially gone folks (if anyone thought there was a slim chance he was staying lol)

I hope LeBron hurries up and makes his decision once July kicks in, so we can finally stop seeing these threads lol.

Coincidence? Hmm...  ;)

Haha very funny

Lebron has a major pro to staying - Cleveland and northeast Ohio love him and it’s where he’s from.

He has a major con to staying - dan Gilbert.

When he came back (1) Cleveland had never won a title and winning one would mean a ton to the area and his legacy and (2) Cleveland had a roster with great young talent and assets.

Now they already have a title - he delivered - and they have an aging roster and few assets.

Unless Cleveland makes a bold and risky move to cash in the few chips they have to restructure the roster in a way that lebron can see them beating the warriors, he’s gone.  I don’t think Cleveland is willing to do this bold move (if there is even such a move out there) without a commitment from him - so would be shocked if he doesn’t leave.

It was a bit of a joke (there's still a chance he stays), but clearly Cleveland has to do something with that #8 pick. By something, I mean trade it for a star.

Highly doubt Lebron is willing to come back to virtually the same team + a 19/20 year old who may not make big contributions for at least a year or two. Maybe if Porter falls to them at #8, they could pick him and Lebron stays. But there's a lot of risk with Porter too.

Why would LeBron stay if they drafted Porter? I'm confused. People have painted this scenario before, but I cannot imagine LeBron would want to stay for a player who has injury concerns at the age of 19.

I can see Cavs balking and trading the 8th pick to the Hornets for Walker, and maybe Howard or Batum.

It gives them the actual interior presence they needed. They would most likely need to send them back either Clarkson/Hill or someone else to match salaries.

Seems like a sound theory.

In the past since 2012, every Alabama championship resulted in a LeBron James championship. But Alabama won a championship this year and LeBron James lost, so that theory has been shot down.

Ha, ha, nice....seriously tough, why does anyone doubt he is leaving?

He said, family is the most important consideration: Bronny is enrolled in HS in LA.

He said, he wants to play with "cerebral" players.  That was a direct critique of JR Smith, Rodney Hood and maybe a few others such as the rookie they choose at #8.

He said, he wanted to bring a championship to Cleveland:  done.

The problem for Cleveland is that they have to do something with the #8 pick this month but LeBron can wait to July to bolt.

Max length of NBA contract = 4 years.
Interval between World Cups = 4 years.

Was fun while it lasted, though ;)
