So there is a player who goes out for James? Horford + Pix?

Point guard(?)/Irving
Brown
Hayward
James
Center/Tatum

Now lets match this group with the "enemy" for the following reason...this is what James is doing...right? He picks his roster.

Curry
Green
Durant
Thompson
McGee/Iguodala

Ok, so Tatum is off the bench and the Celtics have a center...who is "inexpensive."

Call me crazy, but, what's the line for those two rosters in Vegas?

Golden State is still favored in this title match up. Isn't that what we are talking about? Beating GSW?

The above Celtics roster has "no punch up front" which comes in handy when playing for all of the money.

They need Garnett or similar offensively competent defensively superb front court player. Red Auerbach always had one. Lots of wings and shooters and zillionaires flying through the air is great, but, all those banners are about a team that had a freaking frontcourt presence...this roster does not have one and Baynes is a bench player.

Curry scores lots of threes, big deal, the other night he couldn't hit a barn. Offense can come and go, to beat GSW the Celtics need more than James and wingers. You want to win against those highlight reel chasin' three point cupcakes? Beat on them.

Watch some Dave Cowens, Kevin Garnett and Bill Russell  tape and get back to me.

GSW would NOT be favored...we would absolutely STEAMROLL them...4-0

JUST PRETEND: Kyrie + Morris + Yabusele traded in S&T deal. Potential roster:

PG: Terry Rozier/Marcus Smart/Shane Larkin
SG: Jaylen Brown/Jabari Bird(?)
SF: Lebron James/Jayson Tatum/Semi Ojeyele
PF: Gordon Hayward/Daniel Theis
C: Al Horford/??

Folks, that team is beating Golden State in 5 games (assuming we're relatively healthy of course)

Hopefully ?? at the center position behind Horford would be Baynes re-signing

Also maybe it would be a 3-team trade of sorts with Kyrie in NYK (with the rumor going around)

Again this is a PRETEND scenario, so please don't rage at me lol

I think Hayward would be 6th man, with Tatum starting...but money still doesn't match for a Kyrie trade...it would have to be Hayward or Horford going out...Unless you wanna include Brown--which I don't.

To move Kyrie you would need a third team...most likely the Knicks

Hayward and Morris to Cleveland directly would get it done salary wise

I prefer moving Horford. This is a wing dominated era. Having Tatum, Brown, James, Hayward and Kyrie

But really I want to see Boston stay together, resign Kyrie and get it done without James

Ainge is ruthless though so we will see

Replace Tatum with Brown...don't need to include Sac pick for LBJ...make it Memphis and Clippers if needed

NICE.

I personally don’t think James to Boston is realistic.

But Boston is without doubt the best situation for him. Ready to win now.

Have the assets, mix of young talent, 2019 top five pick

Well Kyrie + Yabusele + Nader + Morris gets to 29M which is the "magic number" (to match salaries), so it does hypothetically work I believe.

Cavs are in cap hell. Unless they get value back that will let them contend or some offer like JT and JB, they're going to want to blow it up and they'll let him walk. That's the most likely scenario for CLE, not a trade. Then it becomes all about cap room for his pursuers and we don't have it and would have to sacrifice a lot to absorb his contract and fit under the salary cap. Not going to happen.
