Stephen A Smith reports we will have a talk with Lebron next season about Joining the Celtics.

I am against it because I think it will cost too much in terms of players and he will want the star treatment.

I personally don't even think that we should give his enormous ego a meeting.

don't act like you wouldn't trade Hayward for LeBron in a millisecond if you could.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
I want to beat LeBron, but... I also want to beat the living stuffing out of GSW... LeBron has been a thorn in their backside... Literally averaging 34.1 PPG, 11.2 RPG, and 10.8 APG against them... He just hasn't had the help necessary besides 2016-2017 season.

So while I'm in the camp that we should beat him... It also gives us the extra needed edge to finally dethrone the Warriors. And after seeing how they have acted in the Finals... I cannot respect them any more, and really just want to destroy them. The sooner, the better.

NO. I want the Celtics to win a title ON THEIR OWN TERMS, BY THEIR OWN TERMS....not LeBron winning a title FOR the Celtics. And I don't want the immediate hatred pouring on the Celtics simply because LeBron is there. And then Danny Ainge will be the most ruthless GM in the history of NBA.

And with this team currently constructed, we are already contenders.

It's not going to happen so not even worth worrying about.

I don't believe one ounce of this. You know why...Kyrie Irving

I'd rather the Celtics beat him than him join the Celtics. Nothing to see here.

A once in a lifetime player that dominates still and hates to lose and does everything to prepare to win. Hard not to want someone like that on your team, even with our history vs him. His commitment to winning and being in the ultimate shape is rare on so many levels. I say Yes but will be just as happy with a No- Future free agents would never look at us the same as well if he chose Boston over all other places.

In isolation, yes, that is a good trade but in reality, there are other factors.  I think the biggest issue is Kyrie.  Would we have to trade him too?  How do you sell this to Kyrie?  Can that fence be mended (I don't think so).

I think the problem for me is we go from a young team to an old team.  LeBron seems durable and all but how many years of contention do we get?  Does LeBron continue his practice of one year deals with a player option?  Could he play one year and decide to leave here too?

In the end, in the highly unlikely event that a straight up sign and trade, LeBron for Hayward, is on the table, Danny does that trade.  A GM would have to.  Start LeBron at PF with Irving, Brown, Tatum and Horford.  Wow.  It is like that really hot girlfriend, fun while it lasted, until she dumps you.  Then you wonder how you were so dumb to fall for it, but it was fun.

I agree it's not going to happen.

And I understand the concerns, about ego, about reducing our window, about everything revolving around Lebron.

But I'd take the guy in a heart beat.  He's the best player in the world (easily), he is extremely competitive, and he doesn't get into trouble.

I don't see us winning vs the warriors unless Davis or LeBron come here.

Not even Kawhi if he's traded and his health checks out?

LeBron cost you less. You move Hayward and can add draft picks plus LeBron. If you want Leonard will cost you a ton.

Celts are stacked

Do Warriors have a bench? Celts have Tatum, Brown, Rozier
