Pick number Five to the Mavs. Likely Bamba or Bagley. Jaren Jackson could be there and I with wouldn't be shocked if he drafted Porter Jr or even his favorite guard prospect. Sexton Trae Young or Alexander from Kentucky who had 3% body fat at the combine. That's supposedly unhealthy but he's ripped and never gets tired.

The Dallas Mavericks are expecting to retain their pick at No. 5 in this year's draft.

"I don't think we'll look to trade out of the draft," said Donnie Nelson. "We're excited about the young nucleus with Dennis Smith, and obviously Harrison (Barnes) kind of grabbing the torch and providing the leadership role that Dirk (Nowitzki) has provided over the years. We're excited about getting another young, impact guy we can add to the mix."

Nelson also commented on getting the No. 5 pick.

"It is what it is," said Nelson. "The good news is there are a number of players that are in there that we feel really, really good about. Everyone pretty much has (Deandre) Ayton at the top of the food chain, and then after that there's a good chunk of players that goes certainly past five, well past five, that we feel really really good about."

Yeah you know that means pretty much nothing. Brown is definitely better than any of those guys available at 5 just a question of do they want him or not.

Not keen on either but voted Rozier as the lesser of two evils.

None.
Folks really like to trade things, just to see players change jerseys.
These and similar I see this past month (fans trading KI = fans abuse drugs) on CB, are all 2K trades that make no realistic chance of happening or reasoning.

For instance, why the buck would you trade a sure thing, homegrown Brown for a ? question mark on a position that is less meaningful these days? Why? And to overpay in the process?
Seems like every proposal is like this.
Never a "small" move proposal.
Why?
Cause fans like to trade and trade and trade.
Even if it makes no sense at all.

Mo Bamba posted a 3.04 3/4 court sprint, better than Westbrook, Wade and Wall

Trading Brown is a non starter for most of us unless your talking about the AD's of the league.

How about an option to keep the pick and Rozier and keep Jaylen Brown because I bet it would win this poll hands down.

Curious what his shuttle time was -- which would indicate lateral quickness to defend the perimeter.

Either way, a guy named Pertrick tried to find a correlation between combine testing and NBA success. He ended up breaking it down by positions. What he found about big men was that a legit NBA prospect with at least a 9'3'' standing reach and who ran the 3/4 court in under 3.2 always carved a role in the NBA and usually turned into a star.

I don't know if its true or not, but it helps sift through the numbers to see what they mean. I always look for those basics for a big man. If they don't meet them, it doesn't mean they will fail, but it does raise some question marks. Whereas if they do meet them, I pay more attention to their skills and abilities.

I heard Azubuike tested better than his official numbers on teh 3/4 sprint and met both of those. The only other prospect to do that was Austin Wiley, who might not even get draft.

I personally don't think Ayton would have met the sprint time, but I could be wrong.

Still wouldn't trade Brown for him.
