I surely apologize if this topic has been presented already.  Between being disappointed that the Celtics lost and my crazy schedule due to the school year ending, I have not been following the blog recently.
Does anyone think that the Celtics lost their momentum when Kevin Love didn't play; or did the Cavs rally around the fact their second best player was injured?
During the season the Celtics did not play well when opposing team players did not play.

No, the Celtics lost that series because of their inability to hit shots from outside in Game 7. That wouldn't have been affected by KL.

Agreed.  But what about game 6?

Impossible to know of course. But yes, I think so. Those smaller lineups brought much more athleticism and intensity to Cleveland’s game. Kevin Love doesn’t rotate on defense to block Jaylen at the rim; Green did. And we missed having Love out there to pick on as an individual matchup. We were consistent in going after him; his absence probably contributed to taking too many js.

Yes.  That is what I was thinking.  The Celtics used Kevin Love in mis-matches.

Yeah, pretty much. The Celtics had a ton of good looks, just couldn't get anything to go down. It's on them, not on Love's absence or Jeff Green or anyone else.

I think the Cavs without Love against us played better but I don't think it makes a difference because if we can't hit open shots in game 7 it means nothing.

I think anyone besides Lebron going out wasn't going to make a ton of difference.
Yup

This needs a poll. My answer is yes. CBS never solved Green.

No

I know Green killed us with 19 points and 8 rebounds, but lets be real. Rozier and Brown combined to go 7-32 from the field. We went like 7-39 from behind the arc in the entire game. As Ainge said, we had one of the best defensive efforts put out there all postseason and held a Lebron-led team to less than 90 points in a Game 7, but our offense just went ice cold too.

Probably not, the Cavs are a stronger team overall with Love in the lineup as an option. It would have changed the series to a more offensive bent for both teams I think but still better for Cleveland overall. Anything is possible of course. Love might have missed his next 20 3s or something like that.

Think if Rozier had gotten hurt in game 7 early would the C's have won? Maybe he scored 4 points on 14 shots hard to get worse production out of those possessions. But would the C's have had a better chance to win? No because if we're butterfly effecting backwards we cannot assume he would have shot that poorly.

This right here might be the saddest and biggest fail of any coach in the history of basketball. Getting beat by Uncle Sleepy. SMH

Wide open shots from the outside.
