Didn’t think DA would go for a non stretch, non passing big.

Hopefully it's the "moneyball" concept.  The key is finding guys who have become undervalued.

Great, Ainge takes a guy with questions about his work ethic, etc. ::). If Danny can get a second rounder for, say, Yabu, or whatever, and take Rawle Alkins, I guess that I could be okay with gambling on Williams, but, man, taking guys with concerns pertaining to their work ethic is NEVER a good idea, imo, so they better be sure about this, to put it mildly.

Excellent pick at #27.  BPA, and immensely talented.  Plus he fills a need as well.  Low risk pick, with the potential for a high return.  Awesome job DA.

This is what you do with the 27th pick:  high upside.

If high upside guys fall (which is what happened here). Usually by late 20s it is seasoned college guys who will help fill out a bench (Delonte West’s).

In all likelihood this guy will never be a starter. But Boston is a good landing spot for him. If Stevens can’t light that fire no one can.
Celtics fan for life.

I’ve watched his clips. Reminds me a bit  of Deandre Jordan

Williams passing is actually pretty good.  That's the one area he improved in his sophomore season.

Oh that's even better than this draft pick.  We need Baynes.

Celtics want a guard in the 2nd round

Source: Celtics still trying to acquire a second round pick. They would like to select a guard if they can get back in the draft.
