Found myself thinking that they lost offseason and midseason trades during our series.

The trade isn't evaluated by one season.  This negativity is ridiculous.

Is this real life or a troll?

By this rationale, if we'd traded our valuable draft picks for some role player on the last legs of his deal, we'd have won the trade because he played and the draft picks didn't......

Would you have sacrificed a valuable asset for, say, Tyreke Evans for a few months, in order for a little better chance to get to the finals and get destroyed by GSW? I wouldn't.

I saw the title and thought this was a LarBrd33 thread.

(Not characterizing LarBrd, just making a funny note. It’s probably a sign that I spend too much time on here now that I can associate certain syntax with specific posters.)

valuable? How valuable is pick 27? And who says Boston wouldn't have resigned Evans, especially if Smart really does want in excess of 14 million a year.

I don't think the Cavs had much to do with winning that game last night. It was the Celtics that lost the game, with their horrendous shooting at home. The youth was just not up to winning the big game. And maybe that includes the coach.

the Cavs were 9 of 35 from 3, it isn't like they lit the world on fire

I remember back in February I hysterically and overreacted-ly said the Cavs will be winning the finals after their trade and stomping Boston on Paul Pierce Night.

Lol oh man they actually made the finals at the very least  ::)

I guess the OP just assumes Kyrie will never play basketball again.

I must have missed his retirement announcement over the long weekend.

Let’s look at it his way: would the Cavs take the trade back if they could? Absolutely, if for no other reason than they could have gotten a lot more for Kyrie than the Lakers gave them.

Mike

If anything, his trade value has decreased since last summer and the deadline.

How does your comment invalidate the OP's observation?  If anything, he has created more doubt about his ability to play due to both injury and character issues.

Not really. His value would be right about the same. Put up his most efficient year to date, only averaged 2.3 TO's a game and scored nearly 25 nightly over 60 games.

Well it's pretty hard for most people to say with a straight face that the Cavs won the trade if Kyrie comes back and plays well.
They have a collection of average role players and the #8 pick in place of a top 3-4 PG in the NBA.

Also, you continue to say he has shown 'character issues' throughout the year with no proof.
