I will be happy keeping either one but after hearing Smart asking for more than 14$ my vote is Baynes

To be honest, Im worth more than 12-14 million, Smart told ESPN. Just for the things I do on the court that dont show up on the stat sheet. You dont find guys like that. I always leave everything on the court, every game. Tell me how many other players can say that.

He's an elite defensive player who almost offsets that completely on the offensive end.; He's not worth what he thinks he is unless someone is stupid.

If I can't have both, then Baynes.
This is all about money laundering.

He's a restricted Free Agent. We can match his offers, but unlikely to be worthwhile unless he generates no interest

I realize that this sentiment won't be shared by many on here, but I really hope that I've seen Smart play his final game for the Celtics.
any specific reason why? I'm guessing the frustration of seeing a guard that can't hit a bucket even when wide open. Its pretty embarrassing sometimes

Pretty much, lol, but he only exacerbates his offensive ineptitude by taking too many horrible shots, so yeah, I know that he hustles and everything else, but he's just not an NBA player, offensively, imo, and let's not forget about his infamous "heat checks" ::). Pretty cringe-worthy, wouldn't you say?
those heat checks made me laugh though

Who will be my comedic relief if smarts bricked 28 ft attempts aren't there  ;D

Fair enough ;D. Watching Brown make Ashton Kutcher look like Michael Cooper was pretty hilarious, as well, imo, plus Jaylen also appears to have the hands of Patrick Ewing ::), so there's that ;D.
At least Jaylen has come up big for Boston in other playoff games and has showed stud potential.

Yeah, I know. Pretty big blemish on his record, to date, though, unfortunately :-\.

Right now I feel like Smart is here for us to sign, just to get a mid-sized salary. Hopefully team friendly. I just don't think you can play a nonthreat, a la Dennis Rodman, in today's biggest games. We can plug in someone else if needed.

Smart is the priority but as always the numbers matter. I'd rather Baynes at a reasonable price than Smart at an extortionate price

I like Smart but I dont think he is irreplaceable. To me hes like Even Turner or Jarred Sullinger, not worth spending more than 10m for.

Yup. Sign him cheap or let him walk. A guy who can kill you more than help half the games he plays is a mle or min player.
Mock "trade deadline" team: Blazers.
PG-Lillard, Napier, Baldwin
SG-McCollum, Connaughton, Wilcox
SF-Fournier, Harkless, Layman
PF-Aminu, Davis
C- Nurkic, Leonard, Collins

Glad someone brought this up because I've been thinking about it and IMO Baynes is more important than the Chucker!

I said Smart but with what he wants, resign Baynes and sign a free agent for cheap

I would love to reddick somehow. He will be expensive
The rim is looking bigger and bigger every game.

Big bruiser defensive bigs are hard to find.  And Cs wiil not get passed Philly without one.  I say keep Bynes.  Also, he should be cheaper than Smart.

Have to admit; id hate to lose Smart.  We probably need him more than Rozzier ....if you have to keep a backup Guard.

it seems as if the celtics will not be sitting on their laurels this off season.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
