I was thinking about starting a thread on this, but I didn't want to distract from the game thread.

This is a commercial from the NBA's "There can only be one" ad campaign from ten years ago. In my opinion, this commercial has aged very well given all that's happened between the Celtics and LeBron since, and it's pumped me up for this series!

Is Baynes hurt? Why start Morris over him?

Baynes will come off the bench.  I'm assuming that he changed the lineup for matchup puposes.  Horford matches better with Love while Baynes matches better with Thompson.

FINALLY A COACH with enough common sense not to tie himself down to a generic starting five.

Morris starting...as expected.

Baynes will likely mirror Thompson's minutes.

Yeah, save ABaynes for when Thompson comes in and try and keep him off the boards.

C'mon C's!!!!  Get game one!

Just as I predicted, Marcus Morris will be in the starting lineup. And I think that's the right call.

I know there's been some "start Semi" chatter, but Semi is just too big of a negative on the offensive end of the court to put out there. I think Morris is really going to take ownership of guarding LeBron and view it as his personal mission to slow him down as much as possible.

Now watch as Cleveland starts Thompson, Love, Lebron, Smith, and Hill, lol. Ugh.

Morris needs to keep his head, play smart think long term and try not to foul out.

Hopefully, the days off have helped Brown's hamstring.

I like our chances this year better than last year.

Marcus Smart has a sore ring finger on his shooting hand, per source. Described as swollen and painful but not bad enough to stop him from playing.

I've never been more excited to see a single player play defense than Morris on LeBron. Probably gonna be disappointed, but if he can slow LeBron even a little that'd boost team morale so much.

Billups had some good analysis spoiled by using footage with Theis in it, twice.

Yeah, I mean, it's ok in the second unit, as that group lacks scoring, but the 1st unit had great ball movement, don't screw it up!

How do you people even use this forum?  I get "connection problems" constantly.  Half the time pages take ages to load.  It's insufferable.  Since when has this forum ran like complete trash?

Anyways... By tradition, I'm obligated to say we're doomed and have no chance.  They crushed us last year and it'll probably be more of the same with King James.  Arguably the greatest player of all time.

That said, I could see us avoiding a sweep.  Cavs are worse without Kyrie.   Across the board, I can see our current group as an upgrade over last year's playoff roster.

Scary Terry > Marcus Smart (Isaiah was injured in the ECF last year)

Jaylen Brown > Avery Bradley (Might be underselling Avery here.  It's probably more even, but Jaylen's size is a big deal)

Tatum >>> Crowder (not even close... Tatum is head and shoulders better than Crowder)

Morris/Baynes > Olynyk/Amir (Again, I might be underselling Olynyk's contributions last season, but this seems like an upgrade)

Horford = Horford

That closes the gap a bit.  But only a bit.  Far superior teams have tried and failed to stop LeBron.

FWIW, I'm optimistic enough that I'm flying from Seattle to Boston for Game 2.
