I think this is nothing more than a courtesy call. Knicks like high profile coaching hires. Jay will not be that.
Maybe after almost 20 years of futility, the Knicks have finally learned their lesson? They continually have gone for big name coaches, big name executives, and quick fixes
They've promoted a culture change with their new regime, and maybe they're actually serious about it?
Well good luck to them but for the life of me I don't understand why they won't hire Mark Jackson, That seems to make the most sense to me. I'm sure he's loving his job at ESPN but Mark Jackson coaching the Knicks just makes sense to me.
I personally think Mark Jackson would be a huge mistake. He thinks very highly of himself, would demand big money, and be fired within 2 years like almost every other Knicks coach.
Hiring a guy like Larranaga is exactly the kind of move the Knicks need to make.
