Seeing Khris Middleton make crazy shots over Marcus Smart and still hitting huge 3's at the end (or, really, at any moment) of the game made me think : who's the biggest Celtics killer you remember from your time following the team?

You know, these players that can are often role players, sometimes even scrubs, but who, for whatever reason, play lights out against the Celtics and thus that you are really worried about when they are on the court ?

Obviously Khris Middleton comes to mind but I remember, during our series against Orlando in '09 and '10, that I was more worried about the Magic with Gortat on the floor than Howard.

Zeller with the revenge game 6, posting an efficient 28/12.
Then follows it up with 31/16!

After the series Brad admits that he didn't know what he had on his roster in prior years.

In my lifetime it's hard to pick someone.  LeBron's domination of the entire Eastern Conference narrative has prevented us from matching up with another team consistently.

I'm going back to the early 2000's with an unconventional pick.  Anyone remember how badly Kenyon Martin used to abuse Antoine Walker in the playoffs?  Antoine was bad for two seasons in a row against the Nets.  The year following our Eastern Conference finals run was absolutely terrible.

Before my time but thanks to ESPN classic I learned quite a bit about Toney when I was a kid.  Didn't the injuries hit hard right as he was entering his prime?

one of my fondest memories of the old Celtic-Sixer rivalry --> Game against the C's in the early 80's.  Toney killing us as usual and hounding Tiny bringing the ball up the court in a hurry.  Rick Robey sets a pick where Toney runs into him almost at full tilt, bounces off him about 6-8 feet right on his back.  Robey's just standing there afterwards looking at Toney and wasn't budged an inch.  loved it.

K-Mart is a good one.  Kittles hurt the Celtics too.

Obviously, Kidd hurt them the most but if we're just talking role players, those two come to mind.

If the OP is looking for a player who wasn't a superstar or didn't play with teams loaded with stars, then Sam Cassell gets my vote for the player who suddenly turned 'all world' when playing against the C's.

FWIW: Andrew Toney was definitely a Celtic killer, but he played along side a group of Hall of Famers. Who in fairness to him played against a group of Hall of Famers on the Boston Celtics.

Sorry, modified after initial post...Most unheralded Celtic killer in playoff history. Nick Weatherspoon by a country mile. Couldn't miss anything in one of the Celtic-Bullets series in the 70's. (74-75?)

For a while now, teams that can get a shooter on the corner 3 has often been killers for us. I recall Mo Williams doing just that for example while on Cleveland.

And then you got guys like Thompson, when we didn't have someone to put on him. And those that we could, weren't on the floor.
