Suppose next year we trot out Horford (43%), Irving (41%, Tatum (43%), Brown (40%) and Hayward (37%).

It's the best 3 point shooting lineup in NBA history right? Who's been better?

You have to love that Hayward is the worst of the bunch.

Yeah, that has to be the best. Atlanta was pretty solid a few years ago with Korver, Teague, Millsap, Carroll, and Horford; but that was before Horford was a really good 3-pt shooter.

I think it should be the best group 1-5.

The competition will be with squads like 2015-16 GSW, which had one or two weaker shooters, but also truly great 3-point shooters who took a ton of shots. Curry hit 44.5% on 9.8 attempts/game. That pulls the team average up quite a bit.

That GSW team hit 41% of their 3-pt attempts on 31 attempts/game. I'd love to see the Cs beat the %age on similar attempts per game, and I think it's possible. Maybe Tatum or Jaylen kick it up a notch with another year of development, and maybe Hayward shoots a higher percentage with more open looks and a year of heavy shooting practice...

Of course, on the flip side is the question of how many attempts Marcus is going to take...

I cant imagine there has ever been a team where all 5 starts average over 3 attempts and make 35%+ from 3.

That's definitely a great starting 5 that can shoot the 3 but I rememver those Nash Suns teams could shoot the 3 like crazy.

Nash, Johnson, Barbosa, Thomas, Bell, Jones, House, even Marion and Diaw could shoot around 33-34%

I think you'd have an argument in terms of every guy on the floor being able to shoot a high percentage.

I still think the Warriors with Curry, Klay, Durant win out in terms of having three of the deadliest, hardest-to-guard outside shooters in the history of the game all in their prime.

Cavs have started a number of lineups this year where Lebron and his 37% is the weakest shooter on the floor (the Hill, Calderon, Korver, James, Love lineup has been particularly sharp shootery, though that made only like a game or 2 as the starting 5 because of the injuries).

We could have 5 all stars starting. That's another thing to think about...

How do you defend this team? All those 5 can shoot the 3 and take it to the hole... And nice midrange game as well

That also the worst starting defensive 5 in the league (which our team would not be). Calderon and Korver trying to keep their men in front of them before they get to the rim protection of Kevin Love? Lol

Oh yeah, no question it was a terrible defensive unit, but that wasn't the question so I have no idea why you felt the need to bring it up.

That Suns team had the potential to beat the Lakers in 2010.

Oh what would have been if it was a Suns-Celtics NBA Finals that year...

Hill, Calderon,Korver,James,Love as a starting lineup never happened the entire season.

So the posters who use that as an example are 100% incorrect.

ah my bad, I thought I remembered it one of the games at the end of the year.  They had so many injuries and so many different starting units, and I didn't bother to check.

They did have that unit with Smith instead of Hill though.  Not quite as good, but still James as the lowest shooter.
