Absolutely. He's an excellent 3rd string PG, a good weapon off the bench for his ability to change the tempo, run the offense, and press on defense. Plus, he won't cost much.

Guess it depends on what they do with Smart.

He’s a good third-string PG, but not a good backup.

Isn't he the best 3rd string point guard we have had in a long time?  If money isn't needed elsewhere for a big trade, I don't know why you wouldn't keep him.  He has been solid.

Yes, for emergency depth. Better than guys like Phil Pressey or Demetrius Jackson.

If we don't get outpriced by another team then I would definitely consider bringing him back. If he does indeed leave, I would consider bringing in Jonathan Gibson as a replacement. I think he did well during his short stint with the team.

Exactly. People forget who he is replacing.

Yes. He's way better than I expected, and certainly the best 3rd-string PG the Celtics have had in a long time (maybe ever).

Agreed! I feel like the KG/PP era C's were often looking for backup PG depth during the season... Cassell/Damon Stoudamire rumors (eventually ending up with Cassell) in '08, then Carlos Arroyo, Marbury, Nate Robinson, etc. The lack of stability was not fun.

He has done okay, but I feel we could still do a bit better on the emergency ball handler front. We could get a bit more size and possibly physicality perhaps.

I don't think he makes us or breaks us one way or another.
