Its already the playoffs and they are sending him to a specialist to teach him how to run forward. That doesn't even include running and jumping. Moving sideways. Making cuts. Running backwards. And then doing all that at NBA basketball speed. He isn't coming back this year. There is just no chance he will be readyBeat me to it. There's no way - given where he is now - that he'll be medically cleared this season. I never understood why people thought he was coming back in March. That would've been a miracle recovery.Yeah. The guy can't even properly run yet. He had a setback not too long ago doing safe 'low gravity' running. He will not be playing in these playoffs. Hopefully he will be ready to go by training camp, but even that is unsure at this point imo. Smart will be back if we survive long enough in this round, Theis even may have a small chance of returning if we make it far enough, but there is no way Hayward or Kyrie play in these playoffs. What we got now is basically all we are going to have the rest of the way for this run. I would love to get Smart back though. He's made for the playoffs, and a lineup of Smart with Morris and Jaylen out there together would be totally bad-ass.

I find it strange Hayward is rehabbing away from the team. It's just one day. He has the entire summer. I am wondering if a comeback this year is possible. Otherwise, what is the rush?
Gordon Hayward was spotted nailing a few jump shots and cutting laterally at Butler this week. If we make it to the ECF, he could very easily come off the bench with the 2nd unit. It’s nothing amazing but assuming his ankle doesn’t swell up after this kind of workout, he could be 100% 1 month out. It will be very telling if he starts traveling with the team if we make it to round 2. https://www.instagram.com/p/BhzLFWgDZLU/

Any sign of progress is encouraging, but he’s not on the cusp of a return.

For the upteenth time, we're not seeing Hayward suit up for the Celtics this season. There's no way the organization is going to risk it. Not too mention, he's just seeing a running specialist!! To me, that indicate he's a ways away!
