I mean, it's not like it's a primary option.  He does it like, once a game.  Anyway, he posts for spacing purposes mostly.  If he gets the ball down low it's as a last resort.

So whatever.

It happens more than once a game, but whatever.

Those little baby hooks sometimes go in.

Agreed that his post footwork looks like a guy trying to convince a cop he is sober...

I would prefer he concentrate of getting offensive rebounds and setting picks.

Baynes should focus on his three-point shooting...

Good offense in basketball or most other sports involves doing something once in a while that "works" less often than the best plays you have in your pocket.

I am all for this.  Baynes needs to have a couple of touches inside every game just to keep teams honest.

It also works more often than never so... *shrug*

If only it was just the post ups ...
He misses layups, dunks , gets blocked like he’s 5’9.
Good D though ...

Yes, anything near the rim is ugly - all year long.

He needs to stick to the elbow area and continue to work on the three.

Kudos to him for working on that three and finally having the confidence to try it in real games.

If he is in the paint, it should be for rebounding and screening.

Your eye test is not backed up by stats.

Baynes is top 30 out of 100 players in FG% for players with at least 1 postup a game.

His main problem is that he doesn't draw fouls, but there are plenty of players who have worse % in the post and do not draw fouls, including Deandre Jordan, Zaza, Favors, Kaminsky, O'Quinn, Gortat, Koufus, R. Lopez, and Plumlee.

I'm definitely not saying I would throw the ball into him more! I'm just saying the way he is currently used in the Celtic offense is reasonably efficient.

When you add in the fact that getting a player touches on offense helps to keep them engaged on defense, those touches are completely worth it, because Baynes is *cue Brad Stevens voice* really good on defense.

I do like that he is starting to shoot threes. He has good form, so with practice, I think he could be effective.

I can't believe people want him to take MORE threes. Yes, he's upped the percentage to 15 percent -- meaning Marcus Smart isn't even twice as good now -- but it is still the ugliest shot on the team.

You know, other than the Aron Baynes lefty hook ...

I mean no offense to the OP, but this thread seems a bit misguided—out of all the problems with Boston's offense, "too many Baynes post-ups" isn't even in the top 10. Shooting well more consistently, driving more, getting to the line more, getting Tatum more shots, not letting Marcus Smart shoot ...
