Welp.

Maybe we'll be lucky and Orlando pulls a rabbit out of it's hat and beats WAS.

Hey, something like that happened in 2015, which pitted us against our worst matchup in the Hawks. It could very well happen, especially as streaky as this Wizards team is and with Wall likely sitting out.

Honestly, the most likely situation is that MIA and MIL lose while WAS wins. MIA is playing TOR and MIL is playing PHI (who needs the win to finish 3rd). WAS should absolutely beat ORL unless they sit all of their players in an attempt to set up a series against us.

You're probably right, as Toronto probably wants to avoid Washington and play Miami or Milwaukee first, along with Philly obviously being motivated to keep the three seed.

The best part about that scenario is the fact that Washington can't really try to manipulate it to get us if both of them lose, as a loss will put them in 8th and a win would put them in 6th.

So everyone root hard for Toronto and Philly tomorrow night!!

Ugh, Semi is so terrible. I don't understand Brad's obsession with him.
I guess they see him as a project , the next Rozier or Smart.

Has he really been that awful?

I hope smart gets back to play in at least one game against Oubre if we play the wiz.

Can someone please explain how Boston can avoid the Wiz in round one if they lose this game???

1: They lose tomorrow against Orlando; or

2: All three of Washington, Miami, and Milwaukee win tomorrow (though a Milwaukee win over Philly will set up a second round date with Cleveland, so.....)

And Miami has the raptors. Boston is going to have to play these ****s in a series.

toronto will have nothing to play for tomorrow

They absolutely do - a win by Toronto will probably push Miami to 8 and Washington out of their bracket, which they absolutely want.

Just a disappointing effort tonight. 3 quarters of really abysmal basketball. That was more disappointing than losing.

Cs are toast if the play WAS in round one. Likely a 4 game sweep.

If Miami loses,  Milwaukee loses and Wiz win...Bucks 7 seed

Miami wins, Wiz win, Bucks lose...Wiz 7 seed

All three win...Miami 7 seed

All three lose...Miami 7 seed

Bucks win, Wiz win, Heat lose....Wiz 7 seed

Not sure why people keep thinking this. Washington is clearly the worst matchup for us of the three, but I simply don't see where this is a one-sided series, especially given our homecourt advantage. That's a toss-up series to me.

I mean, we had all but one of our top-6 players tonight have a terrible game, yet it was a close game until midway through the 4th.

[dang], I remember last year the Celtics started the postseason 0-2 and most of Celtics nation were calling for Brad Stevens' head and his atrocious 2-10 playoff record after Game 2.

Unfortunately, a 6-0 miracle run won't happen again in the playoffs for the C's this year.  :'(

That's what happens when players are Jekyll and Hyde (Rozier/Morris). Tatum did not have a good game tonight as well. Rozier/Morris have had several bad games in a row now..

I agree with you. Washington is a choking team...

Wiz have 2 All Stars that can easily take over a series vs an undermanned Cs. They are the worst match up for them and it would be a quick exit for Boston

Have to assume that 76ers beat the Bucks tomorrow. That is the case Boston needs to have the Heat lose and Wiz win OR

Heat win and Wiz lose. If both the Heat and Wiz win, Boston gets the Wiz

Dude, you’ve got this all backwards lol

Here’s the list of the possibilities. Technically of the 8 possibilities, 4 of the possibilities have us playing Miami, with Milwaukee and Washington splitting the other 4 possibilities.

Beal is in Tatums head so might as well take him out the series. Rozier would need to be huge and having to chase Wall all series good luck with that. Horford is unreliable and a [dang] joke offensively. Morris showing up won't save us. They got bodies they can throw at Moose in Gortat and Mahinmi that's a wash. We got no real advantage well be lucky to win a game
