I'm wondering if the Clippers offered him a fully guaranteed, pro-rated minimum contract for the remainder of the season. Kilpatrick is just coming off his second 10 day contract with the Clippers.
Kilpatrick signs with the Bulls - a 3 year (!) deal, but with two team options. Seems like a Danny-esque cheapo deal with little long-term risk special.

He's a rotation caliber guy if his deep ball is falling.

Kinda surprised he's on the fringes but he's already 28, his main skill set is volume scoring, and he hasn't really contributed to any good or high-profile teams. The ability is definitely sufficient but I can see why both good and bad teams wouldn't be super-interested in that package.
