Probably shouldn't have Nader cover Beal

Yabs showing good hustle to come back on their Morris to deny the layup.

100% this. He seems too intimidated to shoot the 3 too. Very hesitant, clearly had several open chances or looks.

But man Rozier and Yabusele look great tonight.

At the beginning, I agree.  He passed up shots outside the 3 point line he would ordinarily take with the Red Claws but made good crisp passes to teammates who were open and made shots.  He loosened up a bit after drawing a foul early in the game and as his time on the court increases, I think he's got an honest to god shot of being a player in this league.

For sure, I could see why Ainge took him. From the beginning, it took me by surprise, but warmed up to immediately.

I have learned time and time again to trust Ainge.

Yabusele in today's era is the perfect big.

We don't have much choice.

Good God these refs are criminally bad.  They've had just as much to do with the Wizards getting back into the game as the players.   >:( >:(

And now that the game is close Beal is the difference maker.

That open 3 by Beal is at least the 2nd or 3rd time Tatum has been late to cover an open man.  He has to pick up the intensity on both ends of the court.

I mean, what do you expect? He's playing out of position at the 2. He's a combo 3/4 that is more than likely going to find his long-term home at the 4. He simply doesn't have the foot speed to keep up with 2 guards, even though he always gets caught on them out on the perimeter somehow.

Terrible defense...

Nader got sucked in a screen, Baynes stayed to deflect cutters, and everyone else just seemed shocked to see Tomas take the easiest tear dropped of his career.

I'm disappointed, but not upset.

Do you really believe that?

I've been impressed with how mobile and agile Tatum is for his size.
