Should we even care about seeding?

Was looking at the EC seeding and it seems like a total crapshoot in terms of trying to unpack what the “easiest path” would be. We very well could be in a better position if we stay in the #2 seed. Especially if Cavs slips to 4 and Bucks stay at 8.

If this year matters at all, then yes. The # isn’t what’s important- we just want to avoid one of the Raptors or Cavs altogether and play the other ideally in the ECF.

I don't think the Cavs will catch the Celtics. I don't really care too much if TOR gets the #1 seed. We're going to have to go through the Cavs one way or another. I'll take home court advantage in the second round.

personally i'm thinking/hoping Stevens and the team(specifically the guys that have been here before) kinda feel the same way I do and I think this team might be a lot better in the playoffs because they're pacing themselves in the reg. season, gearing up for the playoffs.

I definitely think this yr's team is a better playoff team than last yr's team that's for sure.

Only so much as its always best to have home court advantage for as long as possible.

The playoffs don't even start before the ECF. I'd have stopped watching long ago if I didn't expect this team to be there when the ECF tipped off.

Personally, I just want to avoid the Raptors before the Eastern Conference Finals, hence I would like for us to finish #2 or #3 in case of the Raptors finishing #1. However, the best case scenario would be the Celtics finishing #1 (don't think that's a likely scenario now given how well the Raptors play), as it would mean that the Cavs and Raptors (provided they finish #2 and #3) would have to face each other before meeting the Celtics in the conference finals.

Boston needs the path that does not have Toronto or Cleveland until the ECF.  So the most likely way that happens is Toronto 1, Boston 2, and Cleveland falling to 4 or 5.  I don't think Cleveland falls to 4 or 5, but that would be the best case scenario.

We still play TOR twice.

Smart punching a picture is the only reason we're not still number 1.  We deserve it, and we should take it back.

I'm not overly concerned about playoff seeding.  Health and confidence is all I care about.  A deep playoff run will be a tough grind for such a young team.

It certainly helps that our championship window is in its earliest stages.
