So here is a team of players that were drafted with a draft pick that at one time was owned by the Nets that never played for the Nets.  Pretty clearly a mid tier playoff team with a pretty bright future.

PG - Damien Lillard
SG - Jaylen Brown
SF - Jayson Tatum (let's just assume Boston would have taken him at 1)
PF - Draymond Green
C - Enes Kanter

Bench - 2018 1st, 2018 2nd, Kelly Oubre, Kyle Kuzma, Brandan Wright, James Young
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Dang, that's actually a really good team IMO.

Yes it's young, and yes the bench would look weak, but on paper that would be an extremely bright team in the future that I guess you would say today was a mid-tier playoff team as a 5-7 seed (as you said).

Of course if they kept any of those earlier picks they may not have finished in the same draft position the following years.

But still, this is an interesting thread nonetheless.

TP!

And then we got Gerald Wallace's albatross contract, but it did came with "the future" at that time, and today is finally "the future" ;D

You can decide whether or not it counts, but shouldn't Derrick Favors be on this team as well? I know he played like half a season for the Nets, but he was a former lottery pick who was traded for Williams.

That 2018 pick could be a Michael Porter Jr. or Jaren Jackson type player. That’s insane
