There seems to be a good amount of injuries to players that are going into free agency. So I have a few questions.

Is it a good gamble/ opportunity to get a guy on a cheap money deal?
And if you expect that player to need rehab and minutes management for part of a season does it make it a no deal?
Is it always better to not take risk or roster space for a guy who isn't healthy?
I also wonder how big is it for owner to not have insurance on a player?
Sometimes a player can regress and not play in a rotation so that is like eating salary so why no risk more on signings on a player getting healthy?

Overall how would you feel if C's gambled on an injured player at signing?

Long history of getting the veteran 6th man this way, with Bill Walton being the obvious example. Also...they can flame out at any moment, so it truly is a gamble for a key piece.

If there’s a guy who could legitimately help us next year, I’d sign him for the remainder of this season for rehab purposes.

I’m just not sure who that player is. I’d do it with Bosh - with the idea that he do nothing this season but get in shape and be monitored by Celtics doctors - but I’m not sure the team wants that distraction.

Danny wouldn't do it with Leon Powe, who when healthy was a big part of our 08 championship as our 7th man.  And he only wanted the minimum.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
