Depends on whether he’s healthy.
i think he said recently he’s 75%

I feel like he will never be 100%. Someone on here or some other site said he needs to get the surgery to be 100%
Labrum won't repair itself.

Without surgery he will deal with pain and inflammation there for the rest of his career

That is the bottom line .    He can' play the type game he gave the Celtcs and last long trying.

IT is lighting it up tonight for Lakers. I actually hope he returns to form and proves everyone wrong- especially Lebron.

We can definitely forget about getting that pick anyway. In fact, as of now, that was the one thing Danny  might have been wrong about- which pick to give as it appears Nets are heading for bottom 3 again. Here is hoping Kings stink next year and we get 2nd in 19.

Lets hope Lebron does not choose Lakers though as IT will be chased from a new home a second time as a reault of the almighty. If Lebron chhoses somewhere else, I expect him to stay in LA.

He plays for the Lakers.  You want him to return to form and play well?   I don't get it.  It sounds like you despise Lebron more than you despise the Lakers.   That perspective surprises me.  It isn't just about the pick (which if the Lakers should freefall is not out of the question)... it is the Lakers.
IT is a very wealthy young man who has already proven himself a world class basketball player -- he is now a Laker and as such I hope that he does not help the team's chemistry at all.  And of course I agree that I don't want LBJ in purple and gold, but this is what makes the Lakers GM job the easiest in sports -- tank, get some young assets, free up cap space and select your superstars.  Spin and repeat.
I dislike Lebron far more than I dislike the Lakers.  I don’t see what’s weird about that.

He played with a torn labrum from I think December of last year. He can play through discomfort.

Second, in playing up Crowder's value in the trade, I screwed up in playing up that his RPM was better than that of Irving and Thomas, which made it sound like I thought he was the best player in the trade. As valuable as his 3-and-D play was for the Celtics, Crowder is not in their class as a player.

Ah, ESPN and their stupid RPM metric.

I can't believe they've managed to dupe so many people into believing it has any validity.

What I can't believe is ESPN has duped themselves into believing that that horrid stat has much meaning. The rankings of players in RPM is ridiculous as evidenced by Crowder having higher RPM last year than did two All-Star PGs that both played as top 15 players last year, one a 5th place MVP finisher.

Also regarding the question in the thread title, I sure hope IT makes the Lakers worse.

I didn't call it weird, I said it surprises me.  Just means I have a different perspective and I am not familiar with the perspective that places person ahead of team (especially where the Lakers are involved). I come from a frame of reference as a Celtics fan that states that the Lakers are the most despised entity in sports.   I rooted for Larry Bird because he played for the Celtics.  I hated Shaq because he was a Laker. I loved Shaq when he played for the Celtics.  I loved IT when he played for the Celtics, hate him now that he plays for the Lakers.  I guess I understand your feelings toward Lebron, but I am indifferent toward his success and to the Cavaliers success as LBJ doesn't play for the Lakers, and the Cavs are not the Lakers.   I guess it surprises me that a player would matter more to you than the Celtics-Lakers rivalry.   That doesn't mean I think you are weird or that you are wrong.  It's just a different way of looking at things and it just surprises me.

Now they are saying the same thing as the Cavs traded for 3 very injury prone players and a volume shooting gunner. LeBron will keep the CAVS going but he's playing like 40 minutes a night just to keep them afloat.

What it comes down to is that Lebron is a bigger threat to the Celtics. At least for a season or two, the Lakers are irrelevant. Since the odds of the Lakers pick conveying to us is very small, it may even make sense for the Lakers to win, to minimize the value of the pick likely headed to the Sixers.

Labrum won't repair itself.

Without surgery he will deal with pain and inflammation there for the rest of his career

Dr. Bryan Kelly is one of the most well-respected hip specialists in the world. He literally treats hundreds of labral tears a year for athletes at all levels. If he says Isaiah doesn't need surgery, I don't see why we should disregard that for an internet diagnosis.
He can say that IT doesnt need surgery while also agreeing that he will deal with pain and inflammation for the rest of his career. It's supposed to be a pretty risky surgery with a distressingly low percentage of athletes reporting a full recovery afterwords.

The doctor and Thomas decided that no surgery would be the better path because with the proper rest and treatment he has a chance to manage the injury in a manner that allows him to perform well on the court over the next several years.

That Labrum is still torn tho and it will be for the rest of his career.
