I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Memphis buying out Evans after they failed to trade him would compound their stupidity.

If Evans is bought out, would he clear waivers?  He's only being paid 3.3M so I'd think several teams might try to claim him.

The most ideal option: Tyreke Evans (But he's not getting waived)
The less ideal but more realistic option: Joe Johnson (But it sounds like he's going to Houston)
The most realistic option: Marco Belinelli

I have no complaints about Belinelli. This team needs a shooter in the second unit and he can shoot the rock.

1. Tyreke
2. Belinelli
3. Johnson
4. Vinsanity

I certainly would love to put IT on this list but I doubt they buy him out and I doubt he would accept a limited bench role on this team and we don't need the negativity and disruption.

The biggest waiver risk is Miami.  They have a $5.5 million DPE for Waiters.  Several other teams have exceptions that could absorb him, but would put them over luxury tax.

If he clears waivers, Denver is a risk, since they were rumored to be interested in him and have the room exception to offer.

But you're right, Memphis would look like idiots if they ultimately waived him.

A team won't pick up Evans unless he wants to go to that team. It's an unwritten rule that if broken could result in issues down the road with that players agent.

You sure about that? Billups got claimed by the Clippers even after his agent told teams not to.

Exception to the rule that occurred nearly a decade ago, which almost ended up with Billups not reporting . The point is that teams avoid the conflict/potential backlash with the agent.
