Basically none of the Celts picks(even the ones traded to Memphis, Cavs) have panned out ..except for Brown

Yabusele has been a disappointment to say the least. He is slow and has a mediocre iq.  But then again who else could have Danny chosen? ... Brogdon was a lucky pick by the Bucks

Thoughts?

Well Tatum is working out fine, so it's not just Brown.

Yabusele is very inexperienced, he's played 110 minutes of NBA ball.  He's not a bust, yet.

Tatum wasn't in the 2016 draft.

Too early to call on both although I wouldn't get your hopes up too much on Yabs.

I think the 2013 draft looked like a bust until 2016. Maybe we should give it a little more time.

Simmons appears to be the only truly elite prospect in the draft, but this was known to be a draft with a lot of very young and very raw prospects, so some other players could still pan out (Ingram, Bender, Chriss, Maker, and even Brown and J. Murray to lesser extens fit that profile).

Yabu was a draft and stash for a reason, but some solid players were drafted after him and I have a hard time seeing him going 16 in a re-draft 5 or 10 years from now.  There have just been far too many players behind him that are trending towards far better careers.  LeVert, Luwawu-Cabarrot, Labissiere, D. Murray and obviously Brogdon all come to mind immediately.  Guys like Whitehead, McCaw, Zipser, Siakam, Ellenson, Bembry, Richardson, etc. all look like they are going to be better as well and pretty much everyone drafted ahead of him is trending that way as well.

Ainge wanted a draft and stash, but it really looks like he screwed the pooch on that selection.  He would have been better off just trading it for a future pick then taking Yabu.

Hard to call the 16th pick a bust. No one is really expecting much from that draft slot. If he turns into Terry Rozier (another 16th pick), you picked well.

If yabu could defend better, he would be getting decent minutes, like Semi.  He seems to struggle.  Offensively he looks okay.  Has an ability to mix it up on the boards.  Still, he was a reach for Danny at 16, and the fact that he was a stash helped justify the pick at the time.

Way too early to say but Yabu still looks very raw. He seems more raw than even some of the other guys who have been with the team in recent years that didn't make it. If he doesn't make a leap by this time next year I wouldn't expect him to stick around the league.

I've thought from the moment he was drafted that Yabu was a reach for the sake of doing a draft and stash that summer.

Nothing so far to change my mind on that.

I'll be surprised if he ever turns into a useful NBA rotation player.

Yabu is a physical freak. If his BBIQ every catches up to that he'll be a serviceable player.

I don't think Yabu has been a disappointment. I think fans here put too high of expectations on him (and Zizic) from the beginning. He was never going to be the next Draymond and he didn't claim he would be, that's what you guys wanted him to be.

Is he really a physical freak for the NBA?  He is a big strong guy who seems to have fairly quick feet for his size.  But how do we know that most players who are very athletic wouldn't retain Yabu's level of foot quickness if they intentionally packed on muscle?  I don't see him as a freak, unless you consider someone like Anthony Mason a physical freak.  Give me a skinny blur of a point guard or a Tony Allen type of athlete any day.
