I just wanted a thread to keep an eye on them.

To me these are two more reasons Smart is more expendable.

The Celtics have 9 other healthy players (including Yabu and Nader) and Kadeem Allen still can’t get any run.  Marcus Smart is not expendable because of them.

Well that's why I used the word "more." More expendable.

The two biggest reasons he's expendable in order are

1. Himself

2. Rozier

Allen has had some big scoring games lately, which is encouraging for a guy known for his defense.  Bird looked good in some early season cameos, but has struggled to shoot from 3 in the G league.  At this point though, neither should factor at all into any thinking about Smart.  Only Eja would think that.

You ignore the G league at your own peril.

No. Cut them both and get some guys in here that can help us in the playoff run.

Nader was like D-league MVP, a coach in the D-league once said that Young was the best D-leaguer he'd seen in 8 years.

The D-league doesnt matter

I think it's possible they could challenge Larkin by the end of the year.  That's depth.

Although it's way more of a reason that makes Larkin more expendable than Smart. That's obvious.

You are absolutely right that when you look at the list of all D Leaguers the list is very sparse on players that made good contributions in the NBA.  But I wouldn't go so far as to say it doesn't matter.

For example there are some D Leaguers that never even were all league D Leaguers like Jeremy Lin.

We could get lucky and they could be seen as assets useful in a trade.

At the money they are getting paid you’re not going to be getting much.

Hey this is fun. Kadeem Allen was named D League player of the week after a 46 point game. It's something

Hey this is fun. Kadeem Allen was named G League player of the week after a 46 point game. It's something

It's kind of funny that a player in the G league can score 46 points but when he shoots in an actual NBA game he barely even can hit the backboard.
